I want to forward different ports to port 80 on my cobalt, for some reason it is not working, though it does work with my apache boxes.

example
for this machine, port 8008 is forward by my ipcop router to port 80 on the sun machine that has apache running on it:

xzess.kicks-***.org:8008

the 3 stars are the 3 letter word for hiney

however, this is not working with my cobalt RaQ3, even if I forward port 80 to it, nothing returns, hoever when visiting the page, attempting to anyways, the web and net acces lights do blink on the cobalt, so I know it is getting the data there.

Is there any reason the cobalt is not sending stuff back out ? ( it is working on LAN however)

Does the Raq have the gateway set to the IP of the router?

Yes, it is set to the gateway of the router

You said "it is set to the gateway of the router". I don't want to be pedantic, but the Raq's gateway needs to be set to the router's IP (not the router's gateway's IP), and then the router needs to be set to its (WAN) gateway. If not, then returns are being sent to a router that isn't doing your port mapping.

It's set to the internal lan's gateway, aka 10.0.0.1. ( Aka the router's LAN side ip)
with a subnet of 255.255.255.0 and an ip of 10.0.0.88

I have port 8081 forwarded to port 80 of the cobalt

The cobalt responds on LAN just fine, but if you try to talk to it from outside, the lights blink but you don;t get anything back ( by lights I mean the tx/rx light and the Web light on the cobalt)

I'm gonna try and see if I can;t get it to work with a port bouncer, somewhere something isn;t happening that should be.

I also tried forwarding port 80 to the cobalt, and I know port 80 works outside my network, though I closed that back up, it didn;t work with port 80 pointing at it either.

Ok, alittle update. I setup a seperate network, with just the cobalt RaQ3, a linksys router and 2 laptops.

one laptop is hooked to a switch which is plugged into the WAN port on the linksys router, the ip of the Laptop set to 10.0.0.10 and the router ( WAN side) set to 10.0.0.5, on the LAN side I have a laptop set to use DHCP ( ip is 192.168.1.100) and the cobalt set to an IP of 192.168.1.50, Gateway 192.168.1.1, subnet 255.255.255.0. On the linksys router I have port 80 forwarded to port 80 of the cobalt for TCP and UDP connections. The lan side laptop can access the cobalt via h ttp://192.168.1.50 however if I try to go thru the router's WAN port by typing H ttp://10.0.0.10 the link and web light flash on the cobalt and no page loads. Is there something in the cobalt I need to disable or adjust that is blocking it from being forwarded through a router ?

I didn;t wanna make another post, but I could not edit the one I just made becuae of the time limit, anyways, FTP ( port 21 forwarded thru the linksys router ) does work even though web access (port 80 ) is not

2 things come to mind...

First, did you shut off the remote management on the linksys?
and
Second, What happens if you forward port 33 to port 80 on the Cobalt?

yeah on the linksys it was at factory deafaults, remote management off. I haven;t tried forwarding port 33 to the cobalt, is there something special that will do ?

I still haven't gotten the coblat to be visable outside my LAN even with port 80 forwarded to it, however FTP does work, even on different ports ( exp. port 3000 forwarded to port 21 on the cobalt) the webserver and port 80 seem to not want to go outside my LAN, and I know the data is coming in to the cobalt but it's not going back out to the internet.
