Are you going to be running any production on this server or just development?

Might want to learn the hard way by doing it in console if you plan on doing anything productive.

out of curiousity why are you trying to do this through gnome? command line is much easier

hi, i got it in kde now, looks much better. The reason i am doing it in a graphical interface is because i am transferring from windows to linux, and obviously, comming from windows, i am use to the graphical interface.

If the graphical interface was to be taken off me, i wouldn't even no how to reboot the machine lol, i have no idea what any of the commands are.

Thanx for the links and hlep
Matt.
