I registered a domain at smallbusiness.yahoo.com one year ago. The expired date is coming soon and i did update my credit card information to make the payment. After 2 or 3 days later, i online and check whois and found the domain name expires date extend until year 2008. But i still receive the email from yahoo and warning me that my card has the problem and i haven't settle the bill and ask me to make the payment before they suspend me. I login to smallbuiness.yahoo.com to check it and found that no payment history. i used visa electron debit card.
my question is
1. does yahoo accept visa electron debit card? there are a lot of website accept it, such as ebay. Dreamhost sales support told me they do not accept this card but i tried to make the payment, it can process.
2. will yahoo extend the expires date of domain name which mean they pay it first and request us to pay it??
3. can i transfer the domain name to other registrar in this condition? The domain name is www.miricity.net (http://www.miricity.net)

1. ask yahoo support
2. I have seen also enom changes expiry date once domain is expired, but the domain remains on hold period.
3. you can't transfer after expiry date
if you want retain your domain just renew it with the actual registrar if it is already expired.

Your only option is contact yahoo and ask them to renew the domain.
Hopefully they accept visa electron debit card :D

Yes, you must contact them and ask about the status. It is better not to waste time over here waiting for the response from other WHT members as expiry date of the domain has already been passed (however, it seems yahoo has already renewed the domain name).
So do it fast and keep us updated with status.

I feel sorry 4 ya, that's what happens when you try to save a dollar.
What are they asking for a renewel fee?
I reg'd one there once just to see what kind of service ect they offered.
It took me 5 weeks of ******** with the co they farm the domain
control to in order to transfer it out of there..
When you figure it cost them or any registrar $6.00 to $6.25 for
a .com or .net plus 25 cents to ICANN unless you're swapping
spit with them they're going to get their money back and make a
proffit somehow..

Hi what's happening is that your domain is in the Auto-Renew Grace Period
It may sound like its a big thing. All it means is that the registration will be automitically renewed by the registry system on the first day after expiration date (regardless if payment is effected or not).
This occurs to all domains, so if you check for eg on Registry Whois, all domains will be renewed in the same way. However this does not mean that they will be actually renewed.
The renewal grace period is set around 45 days (depending on the registrar) which means u can renew your domain at no penalty costs during this time.
