Hello

I need to host a sub-domain on a different web host with different name servers. Is this possible? The host of the main website eg. www.domain.com uses cpanel, and the host I need for eg. forum.domain.com will be godaddy hosting.

Is it possible to do this? I hope this is in the correct section

Thanks, any help is appreciated.

Thanks

will godaddy let you use a subdomain there?

.....

the general idea is that the main domain and the subdomain need to have the same nameservers. separate entries, but same nameservers.

can you add the subdomain to the main domain's nameservers, and point it to the IP on the other server? (in cpanel)

or, you could use external dns ( like zoneedit.com or dnsmadeeasy.com ), for both the main domain and the subdomain.

yes. you can just add the A record IP address on the previous server and point it. or using different IP on the nameserver to point it also can
