sitekeeper 07-02-2002, 12:39 AM Twinklehost
You have some nice plans, why the :puke:unlimited one now. I would like to understand the reasoning.
To all the un-limited host!
Why don’t you just say it like this instead?
We offer:
500MB space
10GB bandwidth
We will never bother you if you go over a little!
Twinklehost 07-02-2002, 12:45 AM Wow, this forum is scary. Didn't expect to get bombarded just because of a word.
By saying unlimited disk space, we are simply implying that customers can upload their files to our servers without worrying about paying extra for additional disk space.
Maybe I should have done some research before posting. It seems that different forums react differently to unlimited hosting.
tingwc 07-02-2002, 12:46 AM OK, can somebody here tell me if this is legit or not. This sounds too good to be true. I'm on the verge of jumping on this deal, but is there anybody who has had bad experiences with this company? I'm a little leery.
Twinklehost 07-02-2002, 12:51 AM We are new in this business. We are having this promotion to build a client base which would help us improve on our services.
THIS IS NOT A SCAM!!!

See the problem with unlimited is that we see it as a lie and being dishonest since there is no unlimited HD and there is no unlimited transfer. If you say you offer it around here you better be able to back it up cause some one is going to try and upload 80 gigs of data and transfer 800 gigs of data. If you can handle that for $19.95 a year great, but if you can't then why lie and offer something you can't.
tingwc 07-02-2002, 12:59 AM OK, well is there a phone number I can call to speak with a live person that will confirm the details of this hosting offer? I will sign on if I can talk to a live person and I can get the details spelled on an email so that I have written proof. If you can make good on your promise, then I'm aboard. If not, expect chargeback from credit card fraud department!
Twinklehost 07-02-2002, 01:15 AM Twinklehost has started to disbelieve in unlimited hosting after much persuasion by fellow wht members. So, we have come up with a new offer.
Click here (http://www.twinklehost.com/index.php?tpl=wht) for more details.
Why did you make a change of your plan? . I prefer unlimited space, unlimited bandwidth and unlimited mysql databases

Or could Twinklehost write down your home address? I will send you a letter and you write me back to prove that you are real.

Come on guys... people do make mistakes and it is good to see Twinklehost make those changes :D
If you prefer to have those unlimited offers... there are other hosts that do... do a search and you can get a number of them or simply visit http://www.unlimband.com/ for the list of hosts.
Just my thoughts ;)
Kindest regards,
Choon

fractiousws 07-02-2002, 02:37 AM Can I order one of those plans to backup my full rack of servers? Not anywhere near unlimited, each server just has 2*120GB HDD's. Please get back to me :D
cascompany 07-02-2002, 02:40 AM Mmm... nice offer Twinkle
so... for $20/year (~ $1.66/month =) ...
5GB Space, 20GB bandwidth, 100 Mysql ???
that's a lot.... :)
But kinda... overselled a lot too :(
think... a cheap server is $100/month. ( 60Gb HD / 400Gb Xfer)
you charge $1.66/month...
so you need 60 people to cover the cost of server....
but... 60 people in one server will be something like :
6.000 SQL ... yeah why not...
1200 GB/month ... uh... you dont get this for $100/month...
300 GB HD ... well... you can buy 3x 120GB hard disks... but... hrm....
It's really a very very nice offer man... I will get one if you give me multiple domains :D
But it's kinda unreal ... all we know that most people will not use it ... maybe use 10% or less... how knows....
But imagine you have a server with 400GB month of bandwidth.... you can get 100 clients that will use 1% of this....
but you can get 20 clients ... just 20.... that (forgeting the space) ... use the 20GB/month .... you're fired... I mean... 20 people consumes your 400GB/month ... and they are just $33/month. .... and if you need aditional bandwidth, it cost you $1,50 min. a month. (and you charge $1,66 with 20GB!!!)...
Just my $0.02
maybe you have to rethinklehost :D your business model...

I think I'd better clarify something. Twinklehost is having this promotion to build up a client base to provide feedback for our services as we are relatively new in this business. We have a limited quota for this kind of plans.
We do know that it is impossible to carry out this offer in a long term. Hope this answer your query. ;)
cascompany 07-02-2002, 03:11 AM oh well... maybe it's okey this way...
just like the designer working cheap to build a portfolio :D
So... will you allow multiple domains ? :D :D :D
leave msg or PM me.
Roy@ENHOST 07-02-2002, 10:44 AM Twinkle host is new to this forum and has to learn of the vulgarity 'unlimited'.
Anyway it is good that you guys check out on twinklehost lest he disappear like TimDP of paradise-designs. If he is bad, he can disappear too, in a twinkle....:) ( OK I know it is a bad joke)
Twinklehost 07-04-2002, 05:29 AM Upz!
