I am currently looking at the offerings of various web hosts' reseller accounts. I would appreciate if anyone could offer any feedback on any of the following hosts:

- Protec
- Webfusion
- Heart Internet
- Namesco (names.co.uk)
- Donhost
- 1uhosting.co.uk

Thanks.

Has anyone hosted with HostGator in the US? They are top rated on that WebHostingStuff.com web site. I've scored Webfusion off my list!
Thanks.

Be careful with review sites and Webhostingstuff's uptime monitor.

For one, most review sites are glorified affiliate links and those with the highest payout get put on top.

As for the latter issue : Webhostingstuff only monitors the server the host's main site is on. In most cases, that server is hardly touched at all. Without monitoring at least some of the host's client servers, that statistic becomes irrelevant. Add to the fact that a host can reset the uptime to 100% (I believe it's every 6 months?), it becomes even more useless.

The higher payout at webhostingstuff usually will get the top listing

Has anyone got any experience of Protec, NamesCo and Iuhosting? I've decided against the others on my list above.

Recently i bought a reseller hosting package from webfusion.co.uk . I soon received a automated reply from them giving me a user/pass for my account. I tried logging in with the given information but it didn't go through. I thought it might be the 24hour wait period companies normally have to set-up accounts. 48-hours passed and my account still did not work, i issued a ticket to the company again receiving a automated reply that my ticket would be reviewed shortly. Its been five days since, the company hasn't replied to my tickets and the live chat guy is never online. Is this company a scam or something ? because they do have my credit card info and everything. If they are in fact legit then its a damn poor service.

Stevio,

I have a couple of domains with heartinternet, even though I cant comment on there web hosting there support is fairly good. I do believe they outsource now were before I used to talk allot to the real team (Rob & the guys). I maybe wrong but even with the outsource, there support is still fairly quick.

Just remember to read the terms on these providers that state ''unlimited this & that'', there is always a catch ;).

I cant comment on the others as I've never tried them.

WebFusion is part of the Pipex group like 123-reg (UK) . . . plus others.

I would avoid them like the plague.

They just give you the run-around, poor CS and when they do finally respond, it's never useful.

I detest the company and am still in the process of moving away.

Even moving away they don't respond, I have to wait til 5-7 days has lapsed so it will be done automatically as they fail to autherize it.

Honestly if you had any sense - simply do not consider them - they are a nightmare :)

I should've known that before i went forward with the transaction, they have my credit card details and i don't know how to stop auto-renew if i cant log-in. :S . Please everyone stay away from webfusion they are a scam

I had an update from the incoming registrar (I was moving to).

Because 123-reg failed to authorise the transfer out within the allowed time the domain was automatically transferred anyway.

I had a very strong suspicion from my previous experience of 123-reg that they wouldn't authorise it in the allowed time.

They simply don't care
