I'm just curious. Analog seems like a giant waste of resources, and I don't think I've ever met anyone who uses it.

I have it enabled right now out of personal convenience, but I do know of several hosts that have disabled analog stats without any customer complaint.

A quick look at our CP shows 75% of our customers leave stats set to the default (Analog), though I would guess a good percent never actually run stats themselves making that a somewhat moot figure. Resource use shouldn't be all that bad if stats are automatically run often enough that the amount of data being crunched doesn't get out of hand.

We have disabled it on all our serversa few months ago. Not a single complaint.

I never used to run it and never received complaints. In my experience people are happier with awstats.

I disabled Analog Stats and Webalizer Stats. Most people only use awstats.

We have analog, webalizer and awstats enabled, just in case a customer complains regarding analog being disabled, which did happen when we disabled it few years back and then brought it back right after the complaint was received ;)

Anyhow, I don't see any major problems with it, only major problem is with the AwStats manual-update function and of course it's best to leave thjat disabled.

Cheers

Then i would really complain. I like to see hits that are right now. Not hours ago. I could never disable that. But i see what you mean.
