Right here is the situation people...

The website www.djwiij.com has just been moved to my server. When my client pointed their nameservers this morning, everything was fine and the move was perfect. The web was seeing the new site.

BUT...

After a few hours my client started reporting to me that the website had changed back to his old website [on his old server]. Not too sure why but when i checked on my computer the same thing had happened. So i logged on to the website via the IP:

http://72.232.195.114/~djwiij/news.php

And i saw that the active guests were dropping.. and then they were gone. This is seriously not normal for this website.

At this point i got an email from my client and he said:

"I pointed the domain to the server last night and it was working just fine, though now when i woke up it seems like its having problems...for one, it went back to the original look...i dont know if this was something you set so you change some stuff or if something screwed up..hmm...also all the extra domain names aren't being pointed to www.djwiij.com...gonna try a few things real quick...brb"

So i went to uni and thought id check out the site from there and see what came up. Now it was shoping the "GoDaddy" landing page saying that the domain had been parked. Now in the email above, where he said "gonna try afew things real quick" you don't supposed that he did something wrong in his domains control panel?

Now here is the interesting part - i thought id check out the domains DNS Zones in WHM Panel. I did this... and the nameservers were something completely different! So.. i changed it back to our servers name servers ns1.firelabs.net / ns2.firelabs.net.

These are the checks that i have done:

Whois:
http://www.whois.net/whois_new.cgi?d=djwiij&tld=com
Domains name servers are pointing to firelabs.

DNSReport:
http://dnsreport.com/tools/dnsreport.ch?domain=djwiij.com
Everything looks fine, all nameservers are pointing to mine.

The reverse lookup for my server is: 114.195.232.72.reverse.layeredtech.com.

Using DNS Stuff: Reserse DNS Lookup i typed:

114.195.232.72.reverse.layeredtech.com
(http://www.dnsstuff.com/tools/ptr.ch?ip=114.195.232.72.reverse.layeredtech.com)

The end result is it lands back at: 72.232.195.114

This was the address i gave above. The lookup tool has an option at the bottom "to make sure that all DNS servers are reporting the correct results". I clicked it and all records match... So on my part i have done everything i can... do you think this may have something to do with a setting that the client has changed in his domain control panel or do you think that the change is still resolving? The change was made less than 24hours ago.

I know its a long read but thanks and ANY help is appreciated!

* Dns resolved djwiij.com to 68.178.232.100

But, the current active A-Record for this domain is indeed 72.232.195.114, my nameserver just hasn't updated yet.

I do believe the A record has not reached your client yet.

Ahh cool thats a big relief off my mind...

Can anyone else do a quick test just to see what results other people are getting?

I've been actively monitoring the website and i noticed at one point that 2 guests appeared... one of them being me... so maybe its starting to resolve?

Thanks in advance :)
