Anybody here removed ProtectFly successfully? Right Hosting 02-07-2007, 02:33 AM Here is some instructions to transfer out of registerfly (http://www.rightdomains.net/transfers/how_to_transfer_domain_at_registerfly/)including how to disable protectfly for what you need wula 02-07-2007, 07:31 AM Thanks Right Hosting. To prepare to transfer out, do the following. Log-in, go to your domain name then- 1. change LOCKED to UNLOCKED (just below RED domain name) 2. remove Protect fly (click + in box near bottom) 3. edit the whois contact info (click + in box at top) so your name, your email shows in the registrant contact. 4. clipboard and save your auth code. It seems ProtectFly wasn't enabled at all but the whois information still is RegisterFly's. Everytime I try to change the whois information back to mine, it reports "Access Control Violation Stored procedure failure" . Sammy95 02-07-2007, 09:12 AM To prepare to transfer out, do the following. If You get the "Access Control Violation Stored procedure failure" then Your Registerfly domains probably are located at eNom. eNom has suspended Registerflys reseller account so Regfly can not change the info. In some way or another You will have to contact eNom to change the contact info. Suggest You try to move them to eNom and then later choose to transfer them where You want when You have the control again. Sammy :) aqi32 02-07-2007, 10:27 AM yeah i've got the same problem, you can push it free to enom and then change stuff and transfer it elsewhere if you like :) revelationdesign 02-07-2007, 11:57 AM yeah i've got the same problem, you can push it free to enom and then change stuff and transfer it elsewhere if you like :) Do you push it FROM your registerfly account or use enom's control panel? aqi32 02-07-2007, 12:02 PM did you get an email from enom? if so then click the link they provided in that email and it will push it automatically, if you didn't get an email then i've read the best option is to open an account at enom and then submit a support ticket explaining you want to push an domain from registerfly, they should then sort things out for you :) revelationdesign 02-07-2007, 12:06 PM Thank you for the help. :) revelationdesign 02-07-2007, 12:21 PM I have a few domains that registerfly will not let me unlock. I've disabled all locking settings on my account but still a few won't unlock. They are not with Enom neither, any recommendations out there? I will email RFLY support after I get my other domains (that I can unlock) out of there but its last resort. I feel like I'm in enemy territory and I can trust no one. This is a nightmare. Domain status: clientTransferProhibited clientUpdateProhibited The URL at the top ends with "&err=INVALID_PRIVILEDGES" when I try to click "unlock". aqi32 02-07-2007, 12:26 PM try sending a pm to regfly (paul), a member here about those domains that won't unlock http://www.webhostingtalk.com/member.php?u=56748 revelationdesign 02-07-2007, 12:38 PM Can I trust him? I want to wait till I get my important domains out before I give him my account name. Yeah, I'm that paranoid about it. When I joined 2 years ago things seemed fine now, its chaos. This company has double and triple charged me and ignores me completely. I've never been refunded. I don't even care about that at this point. I never get a real answer from support (and I DONT abuse the support system). I LOATHE canned responses that don't even answer questions. What's the point of that kind of support system anyways? Its a pointless waste of money. I just want my domains. They're very important to me. I'm 100% professional and polite and my tickets get closed. Why would PM'ing be any different? It's truly sad when you have to come to WHT to get problems fixed. At the same time, thank God for WHT. I feel very bad for the innocent people that will not know how to deal with this. aqi32 02-07-2007, 12:49 PM yeah it is bad having to pm someone, i had problems last year when my domains where about to expire and stuck in the lengthy enom to regfly transfer, he sorted the problems out, you'll find other users recommend paul and praise him for being pretty much the only help at regfly, but if you feel safer get things out of there first and then contact paul :) k3rnd 02-07-2007, 01:55 PM If your domain really is at enom, a post several months ago suggested using enom's access.enom.com to manage a domain at a reseller, if the reseller interface was down. you will need to know the domain password. click on contact information at the top, see if you are offered and edit button ;-) good luck -larry revelationdesign 02-07-2007, 03:04 PM This is what i get when I request the password (as I've never set one). Below is the password for the domain you requested. Password is If the password is empty please contact the reseller at: support@registerfly.com LOL. Figures. k3rnd 02-07-2007, 06:26 PM fwiw - all my domains at RF had the same password - my RF account password. -larry revelationdesign 02-07-2007, 06:37 PM fwiw - all my domains at RF had the same password - my RF account password. -larry I get: ]Error: Passwords do not match When i try to use my RF password. jcn50 02-08-2007, 11:03 AM It reminds me when I asked the username & password of an OpenSRS (TUCOWS) domain to RegisterFly (some TLD)... Good luck! :D revelationdesign 02-13-2007, 01:24 PM Not much luck with this...Enom ignoring. Registerfly support ignoring....arggh. The last thing I've done is PM'd Regfly. Lets see if this works. PM Sent: 02-12-2007 @ 11:24 AM jcn50 02-13-2007, 01:37 PM I guess action will be required from Enom at some point, so stick with them and don't rely on RegisterFly to fix your problem. Try to open a ticket with the Enom customer support. This story is a good lesson for all of us: hidden WHOIS info is not a good idea... but I do understand that spam is a problem. Webmaster7 02-13-2007, 01:38 PM When I tried to remove protectfly from 2 of my domains, I got all sort of dumb errors, like my country wasn't correct and such. I sent a support ticket, fortunatelly they read it, and removed protectfly, and my domains are now safe... away. revelationdesign 02-13-2007, 01:39 PM I opened a ticket with Enom. They still havent replied. 070207-000303 New 02/07/2007 03:09 PM Registerfly nightmare, please help Sammy95 02-13-2007, 02:01 PM I opened a ticket with Enom. They still havent replied. 070207-000303 New 02/07/2007 03:09 PM Registerfly nightmare, please help As far as I remember, You wrote earlier that Your domains wasn't located under eNom but at Registerfly. So I guess eNom can't do much about it and that's maybe the reason they don't respond to You ticket asap. I think that You should focus on getting through at Registerfly' support. NB! Every time I have opened an support ticket at RegFly and created an update to that ticket before they answered it, then they never answered my ticket. If You have done this, create another ticket about it. And good news: My last ticket at RegFly was answered and the problem fixed within 24hrs. (I had no info in the Whois info on one of the domains, and wasnt able to change it myselves) So, at least their support is not completely lost. Not all support issues are ignored. But as usual - You mostly (or only) hear about the bad ones... Sammy :) revelationdesign 02-13-2007, 03:03 PM I do have some domains still under enom. Just waiting on a reply. I've opened two tickets with Regfly and Updated both. I'll try and open another I guess :). revelationdesign 02-13-2007, 03:06 PM @Sammy95 did your ticket have anything to do with domain locking? My domains in question on my RF tickets list Registerfly AS the registrar but I cannot unlock my domains (and my preferences are set to not lock). Sammy95 02-13-2007, 04:40 PM @Sammy95 did your ticket have anything to do with domain locking? My domains in question on my RF tickets list Registerfly AS the registrar but I cannot unlock my domains (and my preferences are set to not lock). My domain was completely under RegFly control, and not with eNom. It did not have any info at all in the whois info, and whenever I tried to change it I did get an Error-message saying that "Account could not be found" or something like that? (can't remember exactly). I then posted a polite (as always) support ticket, and choosing "website bug/ website not working" or something as the subject. (You will find it when posting) And before 24 hrs was gone I got the e-mail telling me that my ticked had been responded to and when I checked everything was working again. --- I think that more than 90% of all complains about Registerfly are issues about domains that are located in RegisterFlys eNom account. And their support has probably had a lot of work to do because of this. And not everyone I have been in touch with there have the needed skills to be on the support desk. (=my opinion) This is what I think was one of the things RegFly did do totally wrong. Because the main complains about RegFly are about lack of support / things not getting solved. They saved a penny or two using less qualified support staff, but will probably loose huge amounts of income because of this.. I have been a Registerfly customer for many years now. We all agree about that their transfer from eNom has not been smoothly at all, but - they did serve me very well the years before the eNom move, and I really wonder if it will be "normal" again when this "move" now goes to an end. But with my 60 client domains left at RegFly the question is - do I still want to find it out...? Sammy :) bolu 02-15-2007, 09:00 AM I have thesame problem with Registerfly. I have sent several mails and tickets but it all seems I am on my own - no body responded. My domains carry protectfly even though I did not initiated it. I want it removed immediately but none has responded to me. I tried to disable the protectfly but whois record is still not showing my details after 5 days i did so. Please, can any one help me out here? I am disturbed! My domains expire next week! And the whois record shows they were registered at eNom. I got eNom mail. I followed the link but I got only one domain pushed into my new eNom account. I still have other domains left behind at Registerfly. Is this how Registerfly wants to pay us back for patronizing her? Someone, kindly help if you can. Webmaster7 02-15-2007, 09:39 AM Bolu, did you sent the printscreen with all the domains you wanted pushed to your eNom account? Elida emailed me in the same day I contacted her. Contact Elida Flores ( elida /at/ enom.com ), with a printscreen of those domains in your registerfly account, your username at enomcentral, and a scanned image of your id card or drivers license. My domain was in my account in the next day. Hurry up! bolu 02-15-2007, 10:27 AM Hello Coupons, Thanks so much for your response. But how do i get the printsreen done? How do you mean? Kindly respond soonest. Thanks again and cheers! Sammy95 02-15-2007, 12:18 PM Hello Coupons, Thanks so much for your response. But how do i get the printsreen done? How do you mean? Kindly respond soonest. Thanks again and cheers! You have to use a screen capture program and save the screen image as an image-file. Then e-mail that file together with the scanned image of Your id papers to Elida. There are many programs that will capture the screen for You. One of them is this one: http://www.mirekw.com/winfreeware/mwsnap.html Never tried it but it was recommended by a serious website here, so... Sammy :) jinjimbob 02-15-2007, 01:33 PM You just press the printscreen button and paste it into paint. Has anyone stopped by the Enom offices in Bellevue, WA yet? I live close by, might have to do this. This mess is 100% caused by Enom, registerfly was sloppy, but it was Enom's fault. aqi32 02-15-2007, 02:10 PM also alt + print screen takes a screenshot of the active window opposed to the whole screen. you could pop by and press the push button for my domains that seem to be stuck ;) Webmaster7 02-15-2007, 02:18 PM bolu, I saw your PM, and replied, but it's nice to see that other members already had helped you here (I advised the same thing - printscreen button + paint). Hope you get your domains back! bolu 02-22-2007, 03:00 PM Thank you Coupons and everyone. But I have not succeeded in downloading a good screen capture softwares. The one mentioned above did not work. Other ones i have downloaded keep shutting down my system each time i want to start it. Does any one know of a good screen capture softwares for free download? Your assistance will be highly appreciated. Thanks. jinjimbob 02-22-2007, 03:12 PM Thank you Coupons and everyone. But I have not succeeded in downloading a good screen capture softwares. I sent all my info the eNom and they sorted the domains out for me, bye bye RegisterFly. :) |
