I recently dumped 1and1 in terms of web hosting, but they are still my registrar. Anybody know whether they give people crap re: their service as a registrar.

Specifically, if I'm guessing that a website I'm doing will be successful commercially, should I transfer to a different registrar? If so, any suggestions on which registrars?

My experience with 1&1 Domains was bad.

They took 4+ days to even attempt to register a domain, after waiting so long, I registered it with another company who got it instantly

Their techsupport is clueless....didn't even know what a NameServer was.

Their domain control panel sucks compared to other companies.

I now use Namecheap for all registrations, and couldn't be happier. If I had a domain that was with 1&1, personally I would transfer it out immediately.
