My mate wants me to make him a website, about 6 pages of professional design for his company. he also wants a sign up page and login system, where people can buy products from the site via paypal. So like a catalogue of products, a status of your products owned, (the site is product advertiesment btw, you buy advertising space in the directory) and a place to edit your product descriptions.

How much would you web-designers charge him for the design?

And how much would you programmers charge him for the php/mysql integration?

It's hard to say, I don't have enough information. If you'd like an actual quote <<post in the offers and requests forum>>.

Starting from $500, I would say.

mikey1090, this depends if some existing solution can be used, or if we write everything from zero.

osCommerce can be used - this'll be a good idea. In this case it'll take about $400.

If we create everything from zero - I would say, starting from $600 and up to $1k (depends on special functions).

How long would you estimate this project would take you to complete?

How much is your time worth per hour?

How much would you reduce your hourly rate for a friend?

Subtract your amount reduced from your regula rate and multiply this by the amount of time you anticipate this will take. That's what you should charge him. :)

What would we charge him? Well, there's precious little information about his underlying buiness goals, so it is very hard to say how deep the project would go in order to assure he attains them, so the answer would be somewhere between $500 and $50,000.

you should charge minimum of $800 and the time frame must be between 15-20 days, this is mainly becuase you will have integrate paypal with the shopping you will make, and also an area to manage all orders and customers.
