I awoke this morning to find a ransom note in my inbox after casually inquiring if this undeveloped domain was for sale.

"I would like to see this domain developed. The price is $500."

It really made my day. :D

I got back on my chair and happily clicked delete knowing I had just created a much much better domain (clever and funny even) just by using my brain a wee little bit. I didn't search anywhere...just simply typed some domains in my browser's addy bar and presto! :)

However, I realize some of you are to the frustration point with these squatters so I thought I'd encourage you to brainstorm just a little bit longer before caving in to similar ransom notes. Use your creativity and inspiration to make your very own phrase...not just some word.com found in the dictionary. They're all gone years ago anyway.

You asked for the domain, the guy replied with a price (which is NOT AT ALL outrageous), and you call it a ransom?! :confused:

It's funny now because I asked 6 months ago and have already bought another domain for this project.

Sometimes, I see them dropped years later.

It's quite a beautiful thing, actually.
