$100,000 I would invest $75,000 and use $25,000 to get a few very powerfull servers and start a vps line :)

I'd have someone take out all these supposed web-hosts who clearly haven't got a clue and ask the most basic questions that they should know the answer to before they even consider offering hosting.

Hmm, "take out" - like, to dinner? ;)

I would buy cutomers. Perhaps invest in a small data center...

1000 - gifts to existing customers to increase likelihood of good pr from them
5000 - diversified advertising campaign
10000 - migrate to proper hsphere cluster and use remaining funds for client gifts and a smaller advertising campaign.

$1000 - Start a small $25.00 per refferal affiliate program and email my current clients and give them a wide selection of badges to put on their site.

$5000 - Ditto plus use 4,000 to build a really cool tracking system to use to track clients for support I've had in mind for a while.

$10000 - 2k to do the refferall and word of mouth setup. 8k to start a seo campaign to target a small niche and build up some text links and articles, to target hopefully something like cpanel web hosting or something that gets around 200 searches a day.
