I am using the basic PayPal shopping cart that they provide. I would like a little script on my site that tells the user how many items are currently in their PayPal shopping cart.

Example: There are 5 items in your cart.

Does anyone know the code for this or maybe a good tutorial on tweaking the cart to get this info I need?

Thanks!

To do this you will need a shopping cart running on your site to collate all the cart data - the user will then just be forwarded to Paypal to make the payment. Most cart systems support this sort of functionality.

So, I can't do this with PayPal's freebie cart?

What do you reccomend for an open source free cart that is easy to use? I don't want anything elaborate, and I don't want a full website ecommerce solution. Just a very simple cart to connect to PayPal.

it is very simple to connect any open source carts to paypal. I recommend the following carts: CRE Loaded, osCommerce, Zen Cart & osCMax

I'm not too familiar with open source shopping carts. Are those just shopping carts or full e-commerce packages?

I already have a website, I just need a free basic EASY shopping cart to hook up with paypal.

What do you reccomend?
