I've been using Hosting Matters for around 4 years and have been very happy with their service. That is, until today. My site, Hosting Matters' site, and my client sites on their servers aren't working. Does anyone KNOW if this is a 'take the money and run' or a 'severe technical difficulty' situation. They've never shared their telephone number, so I'm not sure how else to find out. Emailing them won't help... Their server's down. :( thanks

According to their remote emergency forum, Hosting Matters sites are down through no fault of their own. There are routing problems at Level3. Annette and the staff are on it and keeping their customers informed.
I've been with the company for years, BTW. This is a GREAT hosting company.

Not to be rude about it, but you've updated a seven year old thread, said you're with them for four years (as long as me, then) and you're asking if this is some kind of runner. It occurs to me that you're not thinking things through very well here.
Stacy just posted to the emergency forum with another update about a fiber cut experienced by one of their providers, too. And also posted a notice about how to request a credit, even though the situation is totally out of their control. That sound like a 'take the money and run' host to you?

Not to be rude? Have you heard of this little chestnut called bankruptcy? Or it's happened before to me where a company I thought was great suddenly cuts their losses and disappears. Not fun, but it happens.
Anyway, I didn't realize that there was an emergency forum 'til about an hour after posting and frantically searching to find out what was going on.
It's fantastic that you knew, but I didn't and was extremely concerned. I've had some issues before that only took submitting a ticket to solve, and this time their site wasn't even up. A first for me...
So yes, i was worried, and likely thought it through more than you did your response to me.
A simple 'Apparently you're not aware, but there's been a fiber cut that has caused HM servers to go down' would have sufficed.
won't be back to this thread... not to be rude...
