im not sure if this is where i should ask this so move as needed mods.
ok a bit of background first.
i run a (pretty popular) mobile and web community site. (i wont post the link but if you want it/need it ask me). the scripts php/mysql and ive optimized the server as far as i can currently. but what im wanting to ask is how to make images load off a lighttpd server i have running on another port number on server without putting img src=http://***:81/images/image.jpg and therefore linking off site. does anyone know of any way to perform local links to apps running on a different port of the same server.
im just curious and trying to speed up the load time by not going out to network and back so often for images
