Can anyone with first hand experience give me an impression of how well XEOSDD do their job? Their packages look great but I have not found any user feedback on them anywhere yet.

Thanks,

Dave Wilson

I've just started with XEOS a few weeks ago. They gave me a great package, answered all of my many many questions very quickly and helped me with the few problems I've had. Considering that I have a lot of requirements and am moving from one of the biggest, oldest hosting companies to a smaller and very new one, things have gone pretty well. So far, I'm pleased with my choice.

Mark,

Thanks for your feedback. Do you have any idea who runs the datacenters where they have their servers installed? I'm keen to make sure that I don't sign up with someone who is colocating servers with an operator that is unlikely to be around for a few years! 2 emails to their sales people since last Saturday have still not been answered.

Like you, I'm about to move all my customer domains from a large operator but I'm really keen to make sure I don't have to do the move again any time soon since it is going to be a huge amount of work.

Thanks,

Dave Wilson

That's a hefty wait for a presale question.

The answer arrived this morning. I'll forgive them since all my other annoying questions were answered really quickly!

I have had very good experience with them so far,
In fact I have upgraded my plan from basic to standard.

In fact I have been parking more than 20 domains. I do get decent trafic on these domains.

(They do take longer time to respond)

It's interesting to hear that you are seeing longer response times for the domains on XEOSDD but I expect it depends heavily on where you are. I'm in Austin (their servers are in Houston) and the response is a whole lot snappier than with my previous hosting provider (in New Jersey).

2 months into it, I am still extremely happy with XEOSDD. The cost is great, service is excellent (my presale question delay was definitely not typical) and features are superb.

Regards,

Dave

PS: Rereading the last post, it is likely that you mean response from tech support rather than server response! I find that anything I post to the tech support forums gets answered within a day and that has been fine for me.

I've gotten another domain with XEOS too.

All I can add is that the support is light years better than with that host that calls themselves "the #1 host in the world", and my current plan at XEOS for $240/yr. would cost almost $2000/yr. at the so-called #1. They saved my website from being a victim of its own success! :D

<bump> Anyone got more current experience of XEOSDD?

After a week's downtime on my website at dot5hosting I'm taking another look around for web hosting. Shame really, as dot5 were great while there weren't any serious problems. The wheels have really fallen off now.

Please start a new thread instead of bumping an old one.
