View Full Version : New company needs logo!

A new company, Buchsbaum Consulting Group, needs a logo! The company does Internet Consulting (helps clients determine what type of site they want, gets site design, provides hosting, maintenance, etc.)

The logo will be used online as well as print (cards, letterhead, etc). It should look professional as opposed to flashy. The logo should be designed around the initials, BCG, instead of the full name.

The domain names for the company are bcgweb.com and bcg-web.com .

Anyone want to submit an effort? If you do, please post it here, PM me, or email me and tell me what you'd like in return! (ie. cash, hosting, domain name, etc).

Edit: To make it easy for everyone to compare, I'll post them all here (http://www.bcgweb.com/logos) as they come in.

Thanks!

Nice...
logo 1 looks more serious... and very clean.
(and just 2 colors, easy and cheap for print/plot/etc.

while logo 20 is more colorfull, most suited for internet use.
(but 4 color CMYK print needed ... a little more expensive for offline use :)

Hope you get one of this two.
If you want some little variations of this (colors for example....)
just tell me.

Regards.

little more serius logo "20" (perfect angles)
and some variations of logo "1" ... :)

hope you finally pick some :D

Regards.

PD: Mmm... this is taking more than expected time....

1) Everything posted thus far is a lot better than I could do!

2) Why post just for the sake of criticizing others? If you could do better, please post it so we could all see it!

3) I am extremely grateful that people are willing to post their work. Not only does it help me decide what I like, but it lets them expose their talents for others that might be interested.

Guess that's all I have to say about that!

In the last few logo contests that gadget has run recently at WHT, I think that he has run them in a purely professional and forthright manner. He has afforded us all an arena of open and healthy competition, and his selection process has been logical and timely. No surprises or tricks.

Personally, I have no problem "openly" posting my work. Win or lose. I'd rather see all the submissions here so that I can hone my skills and do better next time.

I echo his sentiments by suggesting that if you have something worthwhile to offer, post it here for all to see. Merely posting to criticize seems unproductive.

Just my thoughts...

Vito

Hello;
I think there will not be other submissions, since there hasn't been in a long time, I was wondering when you were going to make your decision.
Again, I dont mean to be rushing if you need more time go ahead and take it, I know it must be a hard decision. (Just getting curious who won :) )

Regards,
Jeff @ ePixel Media.

True, Gadget's competitions are conducted in a very professional manner. But he won't respond to personal queries ;)

Sure I will! But with all the good entries posted here to choose from, with prices and work to evaluate, its a lot easier to go with one of them then to contact someone off line and have to agree to a price work unseen! Don't you agree?

Well, some of us work in different ways. I, for example, use the strength of my portfolio to bid on projects. I rarely do samples prior to being given a project, simply because I value my time in a different way. The purpose of a portfolio is to help a customer evaluate the strengths - or lack thereof - of a designer.

With several travesties of a competition on WHT in the past couple of months, it's nice to see that you are making a difference.

Thanks, I think ;) Its a shame that some folks end up ruining things for the rest of us!

I'd say Gadget's got the system figured out. As long as there are people on here willing to do design and post work, there's really no reason Gadget should go anywhere else. He gets the design skills he requires at a fraction of the cost AND he gets to pick from in most cases 20 or 30 different designs up front. Seems like he pretty much knows what he's doing.

BTW - WebnoDezign, I like your logo a lot (sans the blue faded BG and text underneath, but the letters are very cool).

Yeah... I usually do not do any samples before some pay in advance (that compromises the client with you).
But I'm new here in the forums... and I have no "logo" portolio (I've to do one... I must have more than 100 logos made...) so a logo it's something no too much time consuming like a website or so.... I just think.... hey, why not? ....
This is why I maybe hate templates.... cause you work for "nobody", you have to sell a template at 50% or less of the cost/time it takes to have a chance of selling it.... hehe... what a crazy world eh?

Well.... gadget ... we are waiting for the :
"And the winner is........"

Really.... :D

But first, I just wanted to thank everyone who submitted an entry. Again, I think they are all excellent. I am glad to see there are still people on this board who are common, courteous and interested in helping each other :)

A big thanks goes out to the two finalists, Jeff-Rd and cascompany. They both made many revisions to come up with the final ideas.

But in the end, the winner is cascompany !!! The design seems more adaptable to multiple media formats and portrays a more professional image. That is not to say that Jeff-Rd's was not professional, just had a little more "fun" in it!

Thanks again for everyone's contributions!
