View Full Version : cpanel auto-install scripts
Okay i am hoping i get some response, so i will just post my question to all host and everyone else that has input.
Okay I purchased Fantastico from www.cpanelthemes.com, and i am authorized to resell my version by kosmo.
I have added a lot of features i think so far, for example.
- Customized to fit in with my custom theme
- Added description for each script
- Added the following scripts:
- PerlDesk - http://www.perldesk.com
- phpAdsNew - http://sourceforge.net/projects/phpadsnew
- Invision Board - http://www.invisionboard.com
- B2 - http://www.cafelog.com
- Advanced Poll http://www.proxy2.de
Ones already built in
- osCommerce
- phpBB2
- 4images Gallery
- PHPauction
- PHProjekt
- PHP-Nuke
- Post-Nuke
- phpLinks
- phpWebSite
Okay and i am wondering whatelse you think should be added to the list. What do your customers install the most. How can i improve this to help improve your hosting company. And also with these added script how much would this be worth to you. I am looking for all your opinions good or bad. I appreciate all your time you have already taken to even read this post, and hope i can help everyone that needs something like this.

email sent. I will try and have a demo for you guys tomorrow since thats when i will get my cpanel back. I had to transfer over to a new noc.
If you are interested please send me an email to
williamwilson@rogers.com
And also let me know if you want scripts added.
Thanks again.
ho247 07-01-2002, 09:33 AM You've got a good list of scripts there already, but what I would do is go to somewhere like HotScripts.com (http://www.hotscripts.com/) and just see what the top rated scripts are, then try to integrate them as sometimes people may not knnow about the script, but once they get the chance to be able to easily install it, they will try it and may like it.
I may be interested in your version too, could you tell me how much it is please (either PM me or post it here)?
Another question is... if you're selling the same script as CPanelThemes.com, but you've added more features to it and scripts, why would people want to purchase Fantastico from Kosmo?
Alan
barrywien 07-01-2002, 10:21 AM Sounds interesting - How much?
Everyone that is interested please pm me or email me at williamwilson@rogers.com I just got my cpanel license back and can show everyone a demo.
Thank you.
ho247 07-01-2002, 11:44 AM Just to tell everyone... I've just looked at the demo and it's very cool how PerlDesk and the other scripts are incorporated into CPanel so users can automatically install it and we all know how popular PerlDesk is... well for resellers I guess... but other sites can use it too, not just for web hosting.
Alan
Thanks Alan, I really appreciate your comment. I have decided after talking to a few people that the price is going to be $65 per server, with a decrease in cost for additional servers.
Also i wanted to add, to all customers currently using Fantastico. I can give you the option of puchasing this upgrade and it will just fit into what you have now. This is just an option for you, up to you. Let me know if anyone is interested and wants to see a demo i will pm or email you the info.
Thanks again
To all Canadians, Happy Canada's Day !! :)

$65 per server per month or just one time fee?
ho247 07-01-2002, 01:38 PM Sodapopinski, that should be per server, one time free. I don't think anyone would buy it if it was per month as CPanel costs about that too, but on a per month basis :).
Alan
:) thanks again Alan.
Sodapopinski i sent you a pm with price and also the demo urls.
Thanks for your interest

I just upgraded Invison Board to the latest version, and am working on adding a poll script and a guestbook script. The poll script i really like can be put in text or mysql which one would you prefer. Should i have the option of one or the other?? Just because some might not want it to use up a db. Also i am looking for a guestbook script any recommendations would be great.
Thanks again
Also for everyone that is interested I have decided to run a special. If you have seen the demo you will understand if not, pm or email me and i will show you.
The special is:
$80 for both the theme and the autoinstall script. for the first server.
$70 for the second
$60 for the third
$50 for the forth
$30 for the fith
$10 for anymore.
Let me know if this is fare, and any recommendations you might have. Thanks for your time and i look forward to hearing from you all.

ho247 07-01-2002, 04:15 PM I just upgraded Invison Board to the latest versionCool, it's good to know that you'll be keeping the scripts up-to-date.

Just because some might not want it to use up a db. Also i am looking for a guestbook script any recommendations would be great.I personally prefer the MySQL version, but there are people who like to use text databases as they might not have access to MySQL. If you could, then do it so the customer can choose between text or MySQL, if not then I would suggest MySQL... which can be debated by other users :).
William, did you also design that theme in the demo? As I'm sure I've seen it at other places, other web hosting companies I mean that already use it. Maybe you could add a screen shot of it here and also add what you've changed/added to the theme?
Alan
the price for just the autoinstall is
Single: $65
Additional: $55
Additional: $45
Additional: $35
Additional: $25
More then that $15
With the max being $225 and includes theme.
I just wanted to add so everyone knows.
Updates are included and i look for updates every 2-4weeks inless a customer puts in a trouble ticket saying hey there is an update. Then i will try to update it withing 2-3days. I jsut can't watch the sites everyday, so i thought that would be best. The site will be launchign in about a week maybe sooner.
Serverhost 07-01-2002, 07:27 PM Sounds promising. Drop me an e-mail when you have a demo available.
if anyone is still interested please email me at williamwilson@rogers.com. And let me know if you are looking for more then one license and we can work out a deal.
Thanks
added advanced poll text and sql version. If anyone is still interested please let me know
Thanks
