 | View Full Version : Servers in the UK dahamsta 06-30-2002, 10:49 AM [ Probably covered before, but I can't search for 'uk' and 'britain' and 'united kingdom' turn up nothing of note. ] Any recommendations for dedicated servers in the UK? I'm currently with dedicated-servers.co.uk (WebFusion), but I'd like to see what else is available. You could try Rackspace (http://www.rackspace.co.uk/), they opened a data centre in the UK about 6 months ago. EDIT: I've just looked at Dedicated Servers UK, and they have really expensive bandwidth charges... £20 for 1GB, that's about $30 per 1GB. Even Rackspace UK has more reasonable price which is about $5 per 1GB of additional bandwidth. I live in France and the traceroute (not too bad, not really good) for Rackspace.uk show that their datacenter is in San Antonio. For europe, it should be really great if Rackspace open a datacenter in England :) Maybe next year ?... I never actually knew that Rackspace has a contract with IXEurope instead of their own data centre in the UK, that's something new that I've learned today :). I have some hosting space with them and have only ever known it to be down for around 20 mins and that was at like 3 in the morning and i had recieved an e-mail warning me about it. SOund like they have some good deals on dedicated servers too.... around 90 a month according to their web site |
