They are STILL down? I tried them yesterday and the site wasn't working...to think just when they had a chances to grab a bunch of new clients from all the unhappy 2checkout clients!!!

There's another thread around here somewhere about this very subject.

I think hostcharge may be upgrading their systems....someone from the company said they were a few days ago. I'm not sure.

I just got an email from Asher assuring me that it would be back up again soon.
I haven't tested it, but I would presume that the order processing backend is still functioning as its on a different domain, but I might be wrong

I believe their MCC has still been operational during the time the hostcharge.com site has been down. So I guess whilst it may not be reassuring to any potential new clients, their existing clients can continue their business as usual knowing that the MCC has better redundancy than the hostcharge.com site.

All that is fine, but don't you think that they should have a level of professionalism and have some kind of message at the very least as to why the site is down?

Personally, I see no excuse. I don't understand how people take their sites down and say that they have a "new site" coming soon, etc.. Just leave the old site up until the new one is finished! Not too hard to figure out!

-just a thought-

Magnet Eye, I totally agree with what you are saying. Just removing their web site totally and not telling anyone why, well that certainly does not instill confidence in their potential clients, regardless of whether the merchant control panel was still online or not.

About the downtime:

It was entirely caused by us shifting to hsphere on the server. We then realized that hsphere is no good for us and moved back to cpanel. the nameserver propagation times were basically the cause of the downtime.

As you can see hostcharge is back alive and a second server has been setup incase the primary site goes down.

And yes about the mcc, thats 100% acurate, our mcc will never go down regardless of our main website.

All the best,
Asher
