I'm interested to know peoples opinions on third party ad serving. Our company has invested in a third party ad serving facility, DoubleClick(DART), as yet most of our advertisers still seem unconcerned about the differences between a third party system and an inhouse solution.

I'd like to know whether as a general rule people take the word of the publishers stats or only trust their own traffic reports from products such as webtrends?

As a customer of yours, I really don't care much for dart over your other software, All the info i want to know is. How many impressions, how many clicks, percentage and make a break down of how many day by day. But that is about it.

Hi Jason,

The reason I asked was on the basis of auditability and reporting facilities.

As doubleclick serve our ads, customers are guaranteed the correct number of impressions are served and that fraudulent clicks cannot be registered against an advertiser. We switched to DART in August and have not really seen many clients utilise its reporting facilities to the fullest.

Do you rely on your own internal analysis of the leads we generate?

We rely on both. Just this weekend I did an extensive cost anlysis of my various advertisers, and cost per click webhostdir is one of the best. The worst is hostindex.com. Remeber dart also servers clients like IBM, and such we don't go into that much detail as IBM would or other companies. But Dart is a nice product I like alot of the features, but most of them I just don't need.

Jason,

The most important thing of course is the results. I'm glad to hear that after 3 years we're still up there at the top of the pile :-)

We've just completed a recruitment drive and from the end of February will be able to offer all our clients a personal account manager. The aim is to have them work closely with advertisers to get the best out of DART whilst freeing up our clients time to focus on the running of their own business.

We hope you notice the difference.

I think the internet world spring show is in LA. The NY show is in October. Does Isabel work for Infotonic?
