I am thinking about doing a website for a local restaurant which is interested in allowing people to order delivery/reserve tables online.
I am wondering if any restaurant has online order system. Is there any complications (except technical) for restaurant online orders, like tax calculations?
thanks
To my knowledge, Pizza Hut has an online ordering system for delivery.

i still prefer phone call to ordering.
online ordering, although completed the order, i cant sure that they will process my order timely, and i not sure will i have my dinner tonight or not.
i still prefer calling local pizza, and get it deliver to my house in 15 minutes.

By far the largest player in this space, at least for reservations, is OpenTable. They handle nearly 500,000 reservations/month for over 5,000 restaurants.

papa john's has online ordering.
How freaking lazy and anti-talkative are we getting.
How many people out there send txt msg's to their friends instead of calling?
Yeah thats what i thought!! ;)

We use Papa John's online system probably about twice a month. It is very easy to use and never had a problem. Plus using it online helps to make sure if you made a mistake - and not the person taking the order via the phone

thanks for the replies.
one more question: how to confirm online orders? you call back to confirm delivery address, phone number and the person's name?
thanks a lot!

If you are allowing them to pay via a credit card, you can always looking at the billing address compared to where they are asking the food to be delivered.
