View Full Version : Best Control Panel?
JedKent 06-27-2002, 10:28 PM Hello, I've been looking through a lot of hosts lately, and I see that almost everyone has a different sort of control panel - whether it be: Cpanel4, Plesk, H-Sphere, or whatever.
So, my question is: Which CP(s) is/are the best, and why?
Thanks in advance!
-I hope.
Symbolik9 06-27-2002, 10:32 PM I personally like CPanel, it's really straightforward and loads extremely fast.
William 06-27-2002, 10:33 PM Deja vu or vu je de ..
search the threads, this is the 3rd most popular question asked.
We will be releasing something really kewl in 2 weeks that will work with Cpanel Webpanel :)

FDrive 06-27-2002, 11:00 PM Our clients seem to like CPanel very much. From a sysadmin's persepective, it's very easy to manage, too.

NixHosting 06-28-2002, 12:14 AM CPanel all the way. Best tool around.
iamdave 06-28-2002, 12:28 AM PLESK
mas3000 06-28-2002, 12:45 AM Matter of opinion. Cpanel and Plesk get most people's vote.:)
ned patter 06-28-2002, 01:03 AM Cpanel.
Rochen 06-28-2002, 01:08 AM CPanel for now, but for how long? Things like VirtualCP and HostGUI are on the way :)
mas3000 06-28-2002, 01:17 AM I would probably say cPanel also.
NumLock 06-28-2002, 02:59 AM i'd DEFINITELY say PLESK
chrisb 06-28-2002, 04:06 AM How many times can this question be asked here at WHT??? *sigh*
tazd9t9 06-28-2002, 04:29 AM I prefer CPanel its much better than plesk
JedKent 06-28-2002, 06:45 AM Ok, cool, thanks :)
Btw, what is Ensim? O_o
phptalk 06-28-2002, 08:20 AM My vote goes to CPANEL new version.
Servstra-Sales 06-28-2002, 08:33 AM For ease of use and the number of features, you can't go past Cpanel. It has my vote. :agree:
coBra 06-28-2002, 09:56 AM what is the url for cpanel ? i tried cpanel.com
"page not found"
iamdave 06-28-2002, 01:47 PM cpanel.net
Nightstalker 06-28-2002, 02:19 PM I'm glad somebody asked this question. Search had yielded to many broad results. I am impressed with the ease of use of CPanel. I am researching H Sphere though because it doesn't seem that bad but there aren't that many workable demos of it. I hate dealing with the Sphera set-up, I am using now. Its a space-hog. I really don't think it can be implemented properly without 200 MB of disk space. And I'm referring to on a 1MB account.
EnigmaBiz 06-29-2002, 02:04 AM I was looking for cpanel site, I recall once where they didn't have any and only few major hosting companies had a lic to sell.
I checked out the price. I must say it's steep for a server that holds 10-15 domains. Maybe more.
I disklike the fact that it's not something I can just buy for 300-400$ and load as many domains as I want.
I loaded Plesk, liked it very basic, clean but I wanted more. Someone suggested the new CPanel / WHM. Lots of goodies but I must say the panel lic/month will cost more than my colo center bill.
Is there a cheaper way, H-Sphere any good, I have to go check their pricing out...
I used Cpanel for years and years now... as a user end and not admin end.
cpanels too pricy and not worth it in my opinion......im willing to wait for them to lower the price :D or for other cps to come out with more reasonable pricing....problem is customers love cpanel and many hosts go in for cpanel at the current absurd pricing :(

Not so sure about HostGUI being "on the way".

Bashar 07-21-2002, 06:59 PM H-Sphere is way better when it comes to billing and expiring accounts without the need to 3rd party tool for managing your users :)
