Ok this is what happened I got domains from ipower a little less then a year ago. There domain interface is horrible you need to control one domain by one. The main problem is I am trying to transfer my domains from Ipower to Godaddy.

I did all the proper steps providing godaddy with my domain information. Doing the authorizations. Now it says pending the registry's approval.

Also I emailed Ipower to let them know I was transferring the domains.
(Ipower is a horrible web hosting provider and is a reseller of tucows.)

Supposely I have to go through a 10-14 day process and then even pay them $25 to authorize a transfer or something like that.

Has anyone have had any experience with Ipower?

they shouldn't charge to a transfer out fee

if its pending transfer at the registry just give it 5 days and it should automatically complete as per ICANN rules

If stu2 were here, he would say "Never get your domain registration from your web host" :D.

Anyways, I dont think the registrar can use any method (unless I am not aware of something) to stop a domain transfer after 5-10 days if you have confirmed the email and all those routine things to transfer a domain.

But they can anyway since they're a reseller, not a registrar.

hitboy, did you provide the EPP code to the gaining registrar and approve it with
them since then? Is the domain name currently unlocked?

Dave, the user should've went to enom and asked them for unlock if he is the legal owner IMO

I got some domains last year and transfered them away after 2 months, i got my domains transfered with no problem, and didn't have to pay them 25$ to authorize, i authorized the transfers myself ;)

Was that with ipower?

I think they might have mis understood me when i sent them an email it hasnt been 5 days yet so i guess ill see what happens i unlocked the domain it self and gave godaddy that domain authurization code i guess i was just being over paranoid lol

Just curious, did the transfer happen as it should?

Have you approved the transfer away email? If you haven't had that email asking you to approve the transfer away, then the transfer is stalled.

Have you checked on the status of the transfer at GoDaddy? Have you authorized the transfer at "Pending Domain Transfers"

oh sorry i didnt update everything went well. Apparently they charge $25 if you are changing ownership. But if you transfer there are no fees. There support staff just sent me a copy and paste messege thats probably why. Thanks guys
