Techark 06-27-2002, 07:15 PM Just wondering how many of you like to call yourself CEO, CFO, COO, DOODOO or whatever. puggy106 06-27-2002, 07:18 PM I call myslef a CEO in my bio, but im actually a Director tazd9t9 06-27-2002, 07:20 PM I call myself MD (i'm in the UK) or more often i just call myself the proprietor iamdave 06-27-2002, 07:59 PM I don't cally my self anything. StarGate 06-27-2002, 08:45 PM I call myself "GodFather" ;) mwatkins 06-27-2002, 09:00 PM Titles are cheap. mwatkins 06-27-2002, 09:01 PM And frankly, if you are a small shop, id'ing yourself as the CEO will probably backfire, if indeed you are also technical support, billing, collections, and 24 hour on-call guy/gal. Better to invent a technical title, in that case, I think. Or, be completely up front about the size of your org. No, not the size of your organ. Webdude 06-27-2002, 09:02 PM Simply Webdude. I am an Independent Contractor to the company. I run it, but am neither titled nor owner. Alan - Vox 06-27-2002, 09:11 PM Alan, aka alzie by many friends. FDrive 06-27-2002, 09:12 PM I don't really use a title. "Jay" is good enough. Techark 06-27-2002, 09:41 PM Is it just me or my perception that the younger host like to put CEO or whatever after their names? I call myself chief cook and lead bottle washer soon to be diaper changer and in the end no matter how much help I have doing the books monitoring the server, chat lines, and forum I am still the one that catches hell when it don't run. I see a few people have CEO or whatever in their titles, even here, and some of them I know are not even old enough to shave yet. baileysemt123 06-27-2002, 10:08 PM Monte> :) good point. I thought it was just me. ;) Does that mean we are old goats??? My friends and my mother refer to me as the "guru" which I am rather uncomfortable with, as many guys and gals could run circles around me. But I am pretty good at fixing most of what ails... :) On bank apps and such, I am the Proprietor. On a semi-related note, I applied for license plates today. I decided to change them. My first choice was "WEB HOST" (probably already taken); my second choice was "OPEN SRC" I had also considered SRVR ADM WEBMSTR WEBGURU WEBGRRL LERN CPR <== people that don't know CPR kinda irritate me :) GOTTA GO (opted not to, figured people would call me in for speeding) HURRY UP (ditto) and WANT A G6 (of course, every Mac fan's dream computer) I opted against all of those. We'll see what comes out, if anything. :) Now how's that for some titles, and boring geeky ones at that. My family looked at me like I had lost my marbles. No "MOMS TAXI" here.... :D Bailey Deb 06-27-2002, 10:19 PM Well, I call myself Deb however I am legally the CEO and for that reason I acknowledge myself as such, especially where signatures matter. When it comes to washing windows and scrubbing floors I then become the CEO that still does wash windows and scrub floors :D Techark 06-27-2002, 10:29 PM Originally posted by baileysemt123 Monte> :) good point. Your joking, right ? :D redjackryan 06-28-2002, 09:31 AM I'm the CWB Chief Whipping Boy Jeremy W. 06-28-2002, 11:42 AM Just to be sure all the "CEO"'s know this, it is completely illegal to call yourself a CEO unless you are marked as such in the incorporation papers. This means if you aren't incorporated you also can't call yourself CEO :) Alan - Vox 06-28-2002, 11:55 AM Alzie ? Your joking, right ? been called that for the last 4-5 years by my friends.
