ok --- i have seen Httpme.

Does it look bad( for biz or otherwise) if i were to replicate the forum model as my front page for my new hosting biz?

I was also thinking of an other option which was to create a basic webpage ( the only webpage) --- which could have the links on the page get re-directed to the forum -- what do you think about this option?

suggestions and comments are most welcome.

thanks

Well, another example of a forum webhosting business is http://dotable.com/ who is the previous owner of httpme.com

Everything drill down to customer services and make sure that your web page make a good first impression

-- also the most important reason for wanting the forum badly -- is because i am taking too long to design my webpages.

Creating a front page is no problem, but the other pages seem to be taking too long.

A forum would be easy to maintain also

please advise

i guess my question should also be,

does it really look so bad that i am copying someone else's model?

. . . does it really look so bad that i am copying someone else's model?
No, I don't think so, and I've never considered it my model. I was the first person to use that platform for the actual host site, with HTTPme, but I don't own the model. I felt the site needed to be a communications platform, rather than a static display of information. And hosting is such a dynamic product, that requires a platform for fast and efficient 2 way interaction.

A few have followed that path - Bluewho.com, and there are others but I can't remember them now. If you're going to use that model, make sure you start with some good forum software, like VB.

Good luck! :)
