My advice, don't judge companies on how much they offer, but on how good the service is. Both are good companies :)
TimPD 06-27-2002, 01:26 AM How you know Kiwi? Have you used them?
Choppy 06-27-2002, 01:34 AM Hi Tim,
I think KIWI was just stating his own opinion based on what he has read on this and other forums...
Kind regards
PlusTwo 06-27-2002, 01:44 AM Hi kiwi & Choppy & TimPD ,
we need your all Opinion and Help .
pls suggest.
Thanks.
WaldoUK 06-27-2002, 02:35 AM The thing about Kualo that put me off was the currency conversion rates. Compare the US and UK sites... r1 reseller package costs $249.95 (which, at the current rates equals £163.24) but on the UK site the package costs £199.95. Not a huge difference, and perhaps not a major point but it can be the minor things that get to me!
(Of course, feel free to point out currency exchange rates do change ;))
I wouldn't judge a host solely on what is on offer... if everyone did that then there would be a lot of disappointed people on "Unlimited space + bandwidth" packages! Send off a few pre-sales e-mails, get to know the support staff, judge how much time they can dedicate to you. Looking beyond whats on offer, the support is a vital factor in going with the right host.
I'm personaly with Voxtreme at present. The support is generally top notch, replies very quickly (within an hour). There was one ticket that sat unanswered for 7 hours, but that was due to a glitch in their new ticket system --- Even then, 7 hours is a pretty good time. I'm happy enough with the set-up, support and prices at Voxtreme :)
HostDev 06-27-2002, 02:52 AM I am with Voxtreme, and I am very happy with their services and support
chrisb 06-27-2002, 02:55 AM Voxtreme all the way!
flashwebhost 06-27-2002, 04:32 AM kualo offers 2 GB. It is what we allote to our clients
Voxtreme 1 GB is what actually used by clients and not what you given to your clients.
RandyD 06-27-2002, 04:38 AM I'm scared of any company that offers too much bandwidth. After six months, what if they close down? What will happen to all your resold accounts? You are in a big mess.
Better to go with Voxtreme, since as far as I know they have a better reputation. (kualo may not be bad, but I haven't heard much about them before).
I am a user of voxtreme and they are great.

LOL, good one.
fyi, I find it interesting that so many newbies are suddenly so hyped about Kualo around here....amazing how such a young company is suddenly in threads all over wht...wow, what is their marketing tactic??
KualoJo 06-27-2002, 03:30 PM Excellent customer support Matt.
Customer support would do it, but still I agree with Matt, it is odd why there are so many posts about Kualo all over the WHT forums lately.

Yes. It is very weird. And very weird for Kiwi(McHost) doing that. Looks more like advertising.

I have only given advice that its not always the space and bandwidth that should decide over which host you choose or not. And from the opinions of this forum, both companies seem to have positive feedback.
mdrussell 06-27-2002, 05:42 PM I don't think Marc is advertising. I think it's nice that hosts can say a good word about each other from time to time, instead of the continuous bashing that we sometimes see. It's just sad that these kind words can be interpreted incorrectly.
Rochen 06-27-2002, 05:45 PM I don't see anything wrong with Marc's post. He is in the Linux, bulk reseller business as are Voxtreme and Kualo. I personally believe he was giving some educated feedback based on his experience in that area of the hosting industry and generally what he has read on this forum and others.
It's good to see competitors putting in a good word for each other instead of the general bashing which goes on around here.
There is nothing wrong with Marc's post :)
KualoJo 06-27-2002, 06:01 PM I totally agree with you both on this one. There is nothing wrong with any of these posts, personally I think its a lot nicer to see positive comments rather than the usual negative comments that cloud the hosting industry, from both competitors AND customers.
You may find it interesting to note that snikle who raised one of the first issues against these posts used to be a part of Kualo until recently. Second to that I believe logf is a customer of their newly formed company. Kualo is my company and I am honestly pleasantly surprised at the kind comments people have been making from both competiters and consumers. It is both incredibly encouraging and exciting for us all here at Kualo. :)
Thank you.
I ment nothing mean by it and I am sorry if it was taken that way:(
From the way it sounds you have very good system! And a large user base.
Sorry if I came off being rude or seems mean, I did not mean it that way:(
And from the ping results I got from some of your clients your ping times are also good.

Fisrt, yes we were part of Kualo, however, my partner and I quickly realized that the way Kualo handles business was not the way we wanted to do business.
Second, yes, Logf is a client of ours. He knows about our past affiliation with Kualo due to the fact that he was a client of ours PRIOR to us joining Kualo. He is a member of wht and can comment as he sees fit, our customers are allowed to speak freely as they like, be it for or against us. And no, we did not solicit his comments.
Regardless of what you may think Jo, Dennis is a friend of ours and therefore we wish Kualo all the success in the world.
