Any recommendation on a Hotmail type of server which will allow users to create a e-mail account for a certain domain? of course also include a webmail type interface..

If you have a dedicated or virtual dedicated server, which I'm assuming, I'm going to suggest you look into qmail. It is a good solid mail server and many packages have been developed to help you out. Vpopmail allows the handling of virtual domains and users. Qmailadmin gives you web based access to manage a domain. Sqwebmail gives you the webmail capability. Qmail is located at http://cr.yp.to/qmail.html.
