If you put some copywritten scripts/programs that you wrote on your paid host's site, is there any way to keep them from removing the copyright and selling them as their own?

There is always United States copyright law. I do not think there is anyway to "stop them" from doing so. However, if they have done so, you can certainly take them to court for copyright infringement. You can also look at the various contracts and even ask to amend the TOS if you like with the host. Then if they did take your scripts, you could sue for copyright infringement and/or breach of contract.

 Lots of fun legal stuff!

Yeah, basically, I don't think you can keep them from stealing it in the first place, but when they do, you can nail them.

This is an interesting question. Why do you think your web host will steal your programs?

Do you suspect something?
