I have a Cobalt RaQ 4i with PHP 4.0.3 installed. Before 3-4 months I tried to update the PHP version but I crashed the server! I had major problems with Webalizer. Until now, I haven't tried it again. But now I must do it. In the http://www.pkgmaster.com I see the package: PHP 4.1.2-3. But in the official Cobalt site there is the patch: PHP Update 2.0.1 with the following description:

"This patch upgrades the version of the PHP scripting engine on your server appliance. This version of PHP contains security fixes for issues that were found in prior releases of PHP for the Sun Cobalt server appliance. This Update installs PHP version 4.0.6-C4. If you have upgraded PHP through a means other then packages from this website, your changes will be overwritten."

So, which of these updates must install? Which is the latest version of PHP? 4.1.2 or 4.0.6? Please help me! Also, any special step/warning in order not to crash my server again? Thank you!

4.1.2 is the more recent version.
If you aren't 100% sure you can look at : php (http://www.php.net)

Which update would be better to be installed? The update from pkgmaster.com or the other one from the official cobalt site?
