MCI WorldCom is going down and probably will be declaring bankruptcy. Protect your hosting company and customers. Contact me for getting alternate network connections...

But bankruptcy does not necessarily mean disruption of service. And, if we are going to limit our carriers to those who are financially stable, we eliminate the vast majority.

By the way, since you are proposing alternate carriers, who are they...who do you represent?

Bankruptcy dosn't always mean that they're going to shut the doors right away. There are various types of bankruptcy and they are most likely going to file, then spend some time to restructure the company.

I do use UUnet. What other alternatives do you suggest and what are the pricing like?

Bankruptcy doesn't mean that they will go down, but it doesn't mean that things can't happen, and it doesn't mean there is a higher amount of risk. I can switch you to Sprint if interested. Need some info to do a quote obviously.

Who do you work for? Give us some information on your services if you are going to advertise. Don't just give a one-liner. Do you have a site?

Just advice as you haven't presented enough information to make one want to respond....

Seems to be advertising in a non-advertising forum.

<<This post must have been moved to the adds forum as it was not in the adds forum when I first posted my comment, thanks for putting it in the proper forum. Curt>>

If anyone has been looking at the news... The WorldCom scandal has been all over the place.

Check it out, flip on the tube or go to your favorite online news source.

Actually... Where is WorldCom going to get the extra financial support (a couple million) for the server/Internet infrastructure.

After all, they are 3+ billion dollars in debt and more than likely, more than that.

I'm sure they're not going to let the infrastructure down (hopefully)... But I'm sure the Internet will detoriate soon. Since WorldCom does provide the solutions for 1/3 of the Internet.

Obviously, with over 12,000 jobs lost and a few billion dollars 'miscalculated' -- Can you imagine how long it will take WorldCom to restructure their business?!?

Bankruptcy or asset raising (selling off stuff) will probably see a stronger player come in and buy up Worldcom assets at pennies on the dollar.

Its possible we may not even see a hiccup.

I wouldn't worry about the UUNET/WorldCom backbone, it is not going anywhere. The backbone is core to the business and it would be the last service touched by anyone at WorldCom.

Even if WorldCom does wind up in bankruptcy court -- they will pull out, without backbone service being disrupted.

The SEC has launched an Enron type lawsuit/investigation on Worldcom...Ironically, they Arthur Anderson were taking care of the worldcom books at one point...
