Hi
I have a Yahoo group with more than 250.000 members. I need to send my newsletter to these members using my own server. I have some questions:
1- Which companies can provide me server for sending newsletters only. I usually send around 5 emails daily, the size of each email is about 20 KBs.
2- Do you know any powerful mail list software?
3- What are the suggestions and solutions that guaranty sending the newsletter directly to the inbox?
Thanks

Do you need customized emails, or is a broadcast okay? If broadcast is okay, you will be able to use something like Majordomo or Mailman. Otherwise, I suggest phpList, but you'll need a ton of RAM, CPU, and bandwidth to handle this.

We have set up http://www.activecampaign.com/12all/ for a client of ours who needed advanced mailing list features.
I haven't used it myself, but I haven't heard any complaints from him. :D

Another vote for 12all :)
We have a couple of clients using it for 500,000+ mailings with no problems, although you'll want to host oit on a VPS/low-end dedicated server with your own IP,

You might also check out Constant Contact (http://www.constantcontact.com/index.jsp) as well.

Constant Contact rocks. But I have used it just for few small campaigns. Nothing big so far...

We have used SonicMailer (http://www.triexa.com/products/smpro/)and it is holding up well for around 5000 a week send with a full page of graphic and text. Traffic is only around 10MB for the newsletter part. I would suggest if you are sending that sort of volume, best if you have your own ip address and make sure that has got reverse DNS setup so the big boys will not bounce you off.
