View Full Version : Alabanza WILL screw you

Well,
The theory is true. I just caught it red handed.
I noticed a client of mine (large account) was not paying her bill. Strange for that account.

Finally after unsuccessful attempts to get payment I began suspending the accounts and they failed... hmm
Looked on the server and to my surprise all of the files for her accounts are gone.. nodda.

Apparently Alabanza feels they are allowed to take their customer's client's files anytime they want without authorization or permission. I don't think so!
Not one notice, email, call, nothing! All sneakily done without my knowledge. In fact all of the accounts are still in the DSM and I am paying for them.

This is after my backstabbing account manager kept assuring me that I should stay with Alabanza, they are improving. I even kept asking if this is something I should worry about and he reassured me it wouldn't happen. He is a fraud as is the company he works for.
Look people this is what they are doing to their customers. I am one and still have several thousand sites with them. Get your rear ends out of there before you loose it. (and don't doubt one or more of them are lurking on this board and may make a comment otherwise)

If anyone wishes to discuss possibility of class-action lawsuit, contact me using PM.

I will update as we research further through the night.

Sad when hosts try stealing accounts / personnel rather than obeying some simple business etiquette, and gaining clients on their own.

Wish you the best,

Hi BurstCSM,
I actually just got a pm about a script which moves accounts from Alabanza to your cpanel point & click. The person said it works pretty well. I will be contacting you shortly to move some accounts.

Get together with the others that have been bent over by them and start a class actoin law suit. I would.

I agree. The thing with big companies is the think they can screw the small guys and get away with it. There are some good hosts out there that are strictly reseller geared. MChost for example. I never once heard of them stealing customers. They have thousands of resellers. At anytime they could go into the regular hosting business and steal all their resellers clients. But they wouldn't cause they have morals.

Morals or not, at the very least you can bring them up for ethics charges.

If you did want to sue them, I can guarantee you it could be a class action without question. They have done that to us in our startup and have done it to many other customers. I don't think you would have many problems finding old Alabanza and current customers to join you in a class action.

hehe. I have no doubt that mchost will have "thousands of resellers" soon. I just wasn't aware you were at that cleint level of 2000+ resellers right now. :)

Is there no stopping the mchost empire?? ;)

I'm sorry this happened to you.

If in the US...
Never file a class-action lawsuit against anyone. Class action lawsuits are structured for attorneys to make money, not the client (injured party). Historical data proves this to be true.

In other words, if you hope to win and recoup damages, you may get 5 cents on the dollar IF you're lucky in a class-action lawsuit. Sue them yourself with your own attorney, and you'll get much more money if you win. There are many other advantages too, such as having more input into the case than in a class-action suit, quicker time to court date, etc., etc.

You tell me! Alabanza f*ucked us over two years ago. Even if I overdosed on the worst form of crack, will never sign a contract with those jerks in the future.

If they will do thesame thing to big fish like Alabanza, what more little shrimp like us. Those ******** at Alabanza did thesame thing to us two years ago. Luckily enough for us a client of our called from North Carolina and told us Alabanza called and was trying to sell them a server. The we got another email from another client saying: Who is Alabanza? By this point we had began to hear allegations of their poor business ethics. We call our ******* of a "Representative" at Alabanza, some fraudster named Mark (I will withhold his last name) he swore they never and will never contact our clients and claimed our clients may have been confused over mailings they may have received!?!

We went into a plan of action. However it turned out good for us. Needless to say we left Alabanza while they looked the other way and then screwed them over by refusing to pay our lat months bill until we got an explanation for their behavior. Suprising enough, Mark and his hooligans could not come up with an explanation! They are a bunch of crooks, but this time we won

Yeah, Alabanza will keep doing this over and over, we left before they started pulling stunts like that - but not before thye;d messed up several times and lied to us to get us to sign contracts with them.

A script had been developed to move a company from an Alabanza server to another hosting company, Alabanza shuts down servers that are attempting to use this script and move.

We know this because this happpened to a customer of ours...

Does the Alabanza to Cpanel script copy everything over (email accounts, forwarders, databases, mailing lists, etc.)?

Pretty much... There are a few errors here and there, but I think Nick may have cleaned it up now that it is built in to WHM

Alabanza is known for this. they got us in August last year. I'll never recommend that company to my dog.
