Please forgive me as I am very new to website's. I have a very small site that is very basic.
What is the .US ? I see they are out there but do they get any traffic ? I have .com and .net for my site and should I add .US for future use ??
But the odds of someone wanting my domain.US are none..
Thanx

For the United States of course. You should get it if you need it or want a US presence. Also if you want to protect your name, so someone else doesn't grab it up then its important. With so many TLD's that can be a big expense though unless you are a big big business and can afford them all.

In many cases this wouldn't be true, but in the .us case, it most likely would be.
The US govt has required that all .us domains show all registrar information, forbidding the typical anonymous or hidden information.

Not really worth it if you have the .com/.net. Nobody is mistakenly going to something.us trying to reach the .com. Cant hurt to pickup however since its only a couple dollars a year.

It depends on what the domain name is.
.com is king. .us is probably worth 10-20% of the .com for resale value of purely the domain name without content added.

Most of the other TLD's have a low resale value (in % to the .com).
There aren't lots of good .US sales, but with the right domain... but if it's available, I guess it won't be a valuable single word.
