I would just like to get some opinions on this.. They (ICANN) would like to impose a .25 cent tax on all domain registrations..

in 3 years the whole internet will be taxed so get used to it. soon we'll be forming a new country claiming "internet taxation without representation" ehehe...

Sure a quarter is cool with me too.. But what about after a year or so and it's a dollar.. Then 2 years its 1.50 and so on.

No worse than the sales tax here in Newfoundland, Canada. $0.15 on the dollar!! Crazy.

I paid $2.51 CAD on chriswalsh.ca because I bought it in from a company in my province.

I guess this would be the same but it would probalby just be worked into the domain price as VAT is in the UK.

I couldnt find it at CNN, but what do they want the tax money for? Just more money to them or what?

Well everyone wants money...I really don't blame them. I would tax too....but how can they tax when people that use the internet all over the world. maybe 25 cents is alot in some countries.

WHAT?! That means I have to pay a whole $2.75 to register another 11 domains! The horror... although I still don't see it as fair, I mean, there isn't even a tax on FOOD here, but there is when I register a domain?
