I was surfing and found this web site and I looked at their new services they say the have coming up, but I was totally surprised at the cost of a UK domain name through this company
Registration and renewal fees for .uk domains have been increased from £9.99 to £19.99. This change reflects the higher level of personal service that UVNET offer over other Domain registrars
Is this the most expensive UK domain names you have seen?
On a lighter note though they are giving some freebies Here (http://www.uv.net/forsale)

we have just put our prices up, as not many people buy domain names they normally already have them, and it wasn't making much money. It's amazed me how many people have actually bought them at the new price.

I think that customers somtimes get put off by low prices.
Mentality = low price -> low service level.

i am trying to purchase a recently deleted .co.uk domain name
everywhere i tried it wasn't available to purchase yet
except register.com
thedomainiwanted.co.uk GBP 49 for 2 year(s) $245.00
what the hell is that about?
compared to that
your £19.99 looks very good

I think the most expensive I've seen is register.com (apart from Nominet itself!) at $90/2 years!!!
For cheap I think freeparking.co.uk is good at £9.99 for two years

Hello
Thats not expensive.
We charge our corporate customers £80 per year plus VAT for .co.uk and .com domains.
The extras they get are:
Payment by invoice on 60 days terms.
Auto renewal on expiry.
Domains locked down to prevent hijacking.
Written confirmation of ownership of .com/.net/.org names
Use of our addresses in whois if required
Use of our international DNS cluster if required.
For the average person who hangs out on this board none of this would matter much but to a company its all very important,
especially the ability to pay by invoice.
All of these things have their place.
