View Full Version : When is a good day to advertise?
lexington 12-16-2006, 11:10 AM Hello, I advertise daily but plan on picking a day to spend a lot of money on new advertisements. I noticed the whole internet has been slow lately due to the holidays approaching, and I wanted to ask you when you think is a good day to advertise? I want to make sure that when I do spend the time and money for this that it will not be wasted if people do not have a lot of money or are not around. Please let me know when you think is a good time to begin. Thanks.
PH-Kev 12-16-2006, 01:43 PM Hi Lexington, your best bet is the beginning of the month and i usually find mondays, wednesdays and thursdays are the busiest. Wednesday being the best. I am in the UK though so you might find the days thing is different where you are, but beginning of the month is best for everyone ;)
Good luck and spend wisely!
SpeedEXEC 12-16-2006, 01:52 PM Really, it all depends on the advertisement. If you have different ad types or a different niche it may take different days for your ads.
Good luck doing your research though bud, I hope you see results.

Any reason why those days are busy?
drewnick 12-16-2006, 08:50 PM Best time for me is early and often. Not being smart, I just think no one here has a big enough sample to really know when is ideal.
lexington 12-16-2006, 08:51 PM I would agree with the first of the month though since a lot of people like the military are paid on that day.
Swelly 12-16-2006, 11:01 PM Advertising campaigns MUST be consistent. You want your brand to stick in the minds of consumers...only way is constantly putting your ads in their face. :)

but that can be expensive! :P
knowing when is the best time to put ads in front of costumers is always good. Thank you for sharing, I'll try that on my next advertising  to see if it works better!
Swelly 12-17-2006, 10:54 PM Anytime is good and better to be consistent as I stated before. You would be wasting your money if it isn't consistent IMHO. You really want to try to burn the image of your brand into consumers brains :) Maybe expensive, I am sure you know the expression "Takes money to make money" Well this is no expection to the rule.

Well, I guess you're right!
But it's always complicated when you put $50 on advertising and almost don't get clients :P
Sometimes it happends, but has I heard before "they come and go, just wait and relax" :D

50 bucks for advertising?
No wonder it's not working. Go look at the media kit for putting a banner on WHT and check out their pricing (and thats basically monthly, and only at ONE place)
I can't even imagine how much HostGator puts in their advertising..but it's everywhere (consistent) and look at the rewards :)
VER-Mo 12-18-2006, 01:38 AM Ive found that I tend to get better responses on Mondays. Not sure what the theory behind that is.
IceBlueHost 12-18-2006, 04:30 AM Mondays is generally a better day for us too.
This time of the year is always pretty slow though because people are mostly occupied on getting ready for the holidays. I think it would be a waste to advertise right now because of that, but if you were to do it beginning of January then you'll be sure to get more rewards from it.
MikeR2k6 12-18-2006, 11:40 AM i find that more people are online on Saturdays. probably cos a lot of people are off work and like to relax in front of the computer xD

Yeah, but not shopping for services but rather playing games and reading random gossips.

OnlineRack 12-20-2006, 02:45 AM For us these are the days that we get the most business (including advertising:
First, middle of the month (people getting paid as mentioned earlier)..... Mondays (people wanting to get things done and motivated I guess)
and Fridays (people slacking, either trying to get things done, or slacking and looking to build a website for themselves).
I hope that helps. :)
Shock Hosts 12-20-2006, 05:23 AM Depends what market you're looking for. There's quite a lot of statistics about this, but you'll have to pay for them. I had a look at them, and all I can remember is that thursdays are popular for downloaders. :P
