View Full Version : Ticket Software
olli460 12-12-2006, 02:47 PM Hello, after reading through the forums i couldn't really find anything simalar to this.
Im looking for a decent PHP Ticket support system, Im not sure what its called but i would like it so when people email me it automaticaly creates/respondes to a ticket. i need to to alert me when a customer has made a new ticket.
Im hoping to pay outright for it rather then a monthly bill and nothing too expensive if possible.
Thanks in advance.

KNL-BSW 12-12-2006, 03:02 PM Personally we use Kayako and are happy with it. It does everything you ask and has a few options for receiving ticket notifications including txt messages to your cell phone.
olli460 12-12-2006, 03:05 PM I was looking at Kayako but $499 for their owned version. was hoping to pay around $100-$200 Thanks for the reply though.
KNL-BSW 12-12-2006, 03:08 PM For what you are looking for it's $299.95
eSupport Yearly Leased $199.95
eSupport Owned $299.95
That is just the ticket system, without the live chat.
olli460 12-12-2006, 03:19 PM Yes i notice that now. Still it is more then i was hoping to spend. any other suggestion would be great
Thanks
jerett 12-12-2006, 03:19 PM That is called autoresponders. What are your plans for the helpdesk? If it for personal use and not high traffic, you could try some of the free options offered with most cpanel hosting through fantastico.
If you are only needing it for one email address like support@domain.com you can check our cerberusweb.com for their free version.
Another is Auracle and Support Trio.
Top desk going right now in general is Kayako. Loaded with many many features that are good if needed / bad if not.
olli460 12-12-2006, 03:44 PM It wont have much traffic i already have a few people who i host websites for and am looking to get it all up and running. By the looks of what you people are saying Kayako is the only decent one. if anyone has anymore suggestions please let me know
ttechpt 12-12-2006, 05:34 PM You can use cerberus for free. Their software is really nice too. Take a look at cerberusweb .com
Swelly 12-12-2006, 09:09 PM I was looking at Kayako but $499 for their owned version. was hoping to pay around $100-$200 Thanks for the reply though.
Paying the extra money is worth it for a good support ticket system. It will also be worth it when your customers are happy with your easy to use system. Alot of things you can do with Kayako to improve that customer experience.
dhcart 12-13-2006, 05:04 PM Look at http://www.phpjunkyard.com/free-helpdesk-software.php It's free and looks simple.
eGawish 12-13-2006, 05:13 PM Kayako is great, but for your budget you can consider IntelloDesk.com i never used them but reviews here shows it's a good product. As you've said you dont have alot of traffic, you can get the Light package for $100 - Owned License.
Sohan 12-13-2006, 05:49 PM I would really put in the extra cash and get Kayako. Maybe ask for a discount, or a refugee disocunt if you pass.
Meisam 12-13-2006, 06:12 PM I say go for Ubersmith, it may cost a little more but you cant beat the quality.

SwiftModders 12-13-2006, 06:47 PM I also recommend Kayako, their eSupport product is very nice, support could use some more work, however the product itself is gold. It is worth the extra cost if you want a solid support center for your site.
Juanzo 12-14-2006, 09:19 AM I recommend you give SupportTrio (http://www.activecampaign.com/supporttrio/) a try. It's interface is amazing and it has plenty of functionalities.
ayksolutions 12-14-2006, 11:26 AM Another vote for Kayako. Email them and ask for a discount if you're crossing over from a different product. We got a 20% discount on the owned license when we moved from SupportTrio.
The only thing I did not like about SupportTrio is the fact that it's not too PDA friendly.
Juanzo 12-14-2006, 11:34 AM PDA friendly? People actually submit tickets and read them through their PDA's?
Besides it, that's the only reason why you switched to Kayako?
ayksolutions 12-14-2006, 11:40 AM That's a big reason for our staff believe it or not. Kayako has a KayakoMobile which works great.
KNL-BSW 12-14-2006, 02:49 PM PDA friendly? People actually submit tickets and read them through their PDA's?
The chances of a customer submitting a ticket through there PDA is probably not all that high.
The advantages are for the staff. The ability to read and respond to support tickets while not being in front of a "standard" computer and move around.
WCHost 12-14-2006, 03:00 PM Thats the problem whether I should get a new PDA or a new notebook
i have still O2 Mini but is far too small and ...slow =.=
