I sold 2 domains name to namesmart.com which they generate money by directing traffic from sites that they own. They changed the whois info on the .com domain that I sold them. However, they just changed the dns info and kept my name and address on the .net domain. I just wonder why. Are there a particular that they did that? I am just trying to see if there is not any harm to me. Please let me know. Thanks.

I'd complain to the registrar about false whois information on the .net. They'll soon fix it.

I have called the registrar before and they said it is up to the company that now owns the domain to change to their name or keep it as my name.

Well that says a lot about that registrar's willingness to implement ICANN's policies. For which you can complain to ICANN about... but it won't probably do you any good. ICANN will probably just ignore you pointing out that a registrar is not implementing their policies.

Talk to the company that bought it. Technically, whomever is listed in the Admin Contact is the owner, so you might be responsible for what is done with the domain.

Hello,

You can contact the domain registrar and then tell them to change the ownership details. Or else you can tell them to hide the Whois Information but for hiding the Who is information you need to have pay for that service.

Thank you.

maybe they forgot to change it, politely ask they update it to show their own info
