Hi people, I`d like to ask you about live chat software that you use, can you give any recommendations or share your experience, both negative and positive.
As for me, I am looking at the phplive, since they have competetive price, about 140 buks per year, it is customizable, I assume scripts are open and we can install it on our own server.
How many of you use liveperson, as for the host provider, 99 per month per chat operator assume that for 24/7 support we need at least three is a quite expensive thing...how do you think? I have made some research and other chat solutions do not meet my needs, I have been thinking about kaykao but their support is awful...no offence...

We've implemented TrioLive from ActiveCampaign

Still missing a few of the nice touches, but works very well for what we need.

Thank you for your comment, I know that liveperson is good, but they charge you 99$ per month per one operator, even if you have 2 operators such charges per month are a bit costly assuming that you are first monthes in business, I have been thinking of the resolving of this - like what if create one live person login and then one actual operator will be working in live person lets say from 8 am to 8 pm and another one under the same login from 8 pm to 8 am, however I assume that live person should be aware of such "mechanism" and should have limitations on one chatoperator login time, how do you think?

phplivesupport is good.
it works fine and fast.
I've no idea about their support, I never needed to ask for support.

On experiance, PHPLiveSupport was good until it started saying operators have left etc whenever it wanted, close itself down whenever; re-installed it and was fine, only messed up a few times. Then, I wasn't confident and moved to provide support. It's a hosted solution which I didn't like but I can live with it.
When I finish V2 of externohosting I will move to Kayako, previous companies I worked for used kayako and I loved it. :agree:

PHPlive support is what we used and were happy with. You just need to keep it updated or it will get exploited. I'd recommend that.

At the moment, we are using the PHP Live Chat script in Kayako Support Suite - I'd recommend this to you, especially if you plan on using a support desk as well (they are integrated!)

In the past, we have used PHPLive!. This program is alright, although I did find it to have a few minor glitches.

Live person all the way! A few months ago they were having some major server issues but other than that the software is great. Especially for monitoring your employees for quality control on chats ;-)

Great reporting features as well.

What do you mean by getting exploited?

We currently use Live Help by Star Develop and I find it very useful. It lacks a few features that other scripts may provide such as Spell Checker, however it is very reliable and the application works well. Also is customizable in the look which is good.

We've been using WebsiteAlive (http://www.websitealive.com) for quite some time now, and don't have anything negative to say about them.

we have been using livechatindia.com for our live chat and support on our website. It seems to be good featurewise as well as cost wise.
they provide chat software at $3 per month and 24 hour monitoring operator at only $299 per month!, so this is best if you want to hire an operator also who will monitor visitor on behalf of you, they first provide traning to their own operator, and you get the opportunity to test them before they start supporting with your operators!

Cheers!

Maybe you should look again "Monthly USD 199.00/month (Unlimited chats) with FREE livechat software"

Php Live, Kayako and Provdesupport (not good if too many concurrent requests) works well. Adding CCS too to the list

I am currently between 2 live help software, TrioLive or Kayako, in my opinion Kayako have better features like SMS notify etc... ActiveCampaigne will also do it but they currently do not have it atm.

Hi, yes, with livechatindia.com it is only USD 199.00 per month, I entered $299 because I have hired two operators for more then six months now for online supprt,. and hence we are now getting two operators at only $199.00 per month with FREE livechat software.

Note: As per my observation one operator only chats with 2-3 visitors at the same time, and if you have more visitors chatting at the same time, then you gotta pay for additional operator on livechatindia.com

I asked them but the answer wasn't so right. You have experiance with them so - do you have to use their software, it appears to be crafty syntax but edited a little which is basically free? Also are you aloud to log into the live chat software and talk to clients aswell? Is the system hosted on your servers or theirs?

Can you pm me a link to your site, i may test them for their ability/english etc.

Ta.

I recommend SHINE Live Help, it's open source so it's free. It's also a fork off of Crafty.

Just on LivePerson - if you're considering purchasing it, remember to have a chat with one of their representatives first. You can get a good amount of money off the software (I'm assuming they get some sort of commission) - I was offered 10% off it with a 15 day moneyback guarantee.

I've used boldchat, phplive, and clickchatsold, all three were pretty decent. I've never used Liveperson since it was too expensive.

We use LivePerson contact Center (http://www.livechatdir.com/liveperson-review.html)on M2M Host (http://www.m2mhost.com) after trying a many other live chat software vendors over last 3 years.

This contact center version enabled us to have integrated:

> Live chat
> E-Mail
> Phone Support (click to Call)
> Knowledgebase
> Web Analytics
> Conversion Tracking for PPC campaigns.

via one interface. We were initially spending 3 times the amount in different services. besides all out support is integrated at one place, and every client interaction via any channel is assigned a ticket.

Therefore, support costs reduced, and customer satisfaction has increased. LivePerson is definitely not expennsive for what it offers.

If you are a serious internet business, and you have given a shot at their 7-day free trial (http://www.livechatdir.com/liveperson-review.html), I'm sure you cannot live without it.

The thing about PHPLIVE is you can buy it outright and install it on your own servers and have as many operators as you like - very feature rich too - if only someone would come up with an equivalent .Net version.

If you want something free and good, there's an Ajax Chat software called "Interaction". It's pretty good: www.interactionchat.com

I agree, InteractionChat.com is perfect for web hosting. Their free version doesn't support several operators, but they have another version that does.

Somehow their signup and contact pages are not working. No verification image appears and the contact page keeps asking for "Subject" field to be filled even though it is filled in!

Ouch. I need this freebie... LoL

I think you get what you pay for - and this holds well with live chat vendors. Vendors who sell out the source code will eventually not be able to sustain business.

As a quick observation, only a few are surviving profitably, and they are mostly hosted solutions that come with a price.

We use Kayako support suite, including Kayako live support. It may be a tad expensive really, we pay monthly at the moment ($40USD) but it is a great piece of software including a Windows application for ease of use - you can see and track all visitors on your website. It is a great product in my opinion, and the live support works great, it used alot and people may well be familiar with it before even reaching your website! (the ticket system etc). Kayako also has great support, i've never had a problem. They're fully recomended by me.

We are using Kayako, they need to improve their chat requests routing and logs
