I wonder if anyone could help me out with this please. I've just rebuilt my RAQ4 using the Zeffie ISO and added all the ‘Plain’ updates and patches.

I am able to send and receive emails to and from users on the local network, but when I try to send messages from an external servers I get the following error:

Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

Subject: Test 9.15
Sent: 08/12/2006 9:16 am

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

blank@blank.co.uk on 08/12/2006 9:14 am
The e-mail address could not be found. Perhaps the recipient moved to a different e-mail organization, or there was a mistake in the address. Check the address and try again.

Sounds like a potential DNS error.

Can you resolve any names while in an SSH session with a ping?

I've tried a ping to yahoo and google in a SSH session and get an unknown host error.

If that means I've got a DNS error, where do I go from there please?

You need to specify a valid DNS server in your network settings; either through the GUI application or by command line in ssh.

You should be able to do it through the webadmin really easily though.

Thanks for the good advice. For some reason I had put the wrong IP address in the DNS section – that’s why nothing was working.

I’ve added the correct address and everything is fine.
