View Full Version : Where are all of VARHosting's customers going?

Yet another unsatisfied VARHosting customer just about ready to look for a new host.

At VARHosting I had a Linux Reseller account with CPanel, Fantastico, and LPanel.

Since I'm looking at having to setup a whole new purchasing interface no matter where I go, would you all recommend sticking with LPanel or moving to something else like ClientExec? The cool thing about LPanel was that it would setup the CPanel accounts automatically in WHM (after much prodding initially to get the two to talk). Have any of the other client billing solutions got this far yet? Is it really that big of a deal (how much time do you all not using a solution integrated with CPanel/WHM typically spend setting new accounts up)?

How many reputable companies offer the end-user support that the old VARHosting did, and how much do they charge for it? (I had a Chat, FAQ, and Help Desk ticketing system built into my site that went directly to them.)

You can setup ClientExec to automatic account creation with WHM/Cpanel, also you can use the same script as help desk.

Yep... Personally, I don't recommend automatic account creation however..

well it depends on the amount of signups received... If there are too many signups, a good billing system that is capable of doing a good fraud check can automate and quicken the account creation process... Clientexec, whmap, modernbill, whmcs have both the above features..

Almost all of the larger players in the billing system's offer automated account activation (either moderated or automatic). I know that ClientExec, ModernBill, LPanel, and WHMCS all offer this feature. If you want a specific billing software or you find a host that you like but they do not offer any billing software, then you may be better off looking for a host that doesn't include it an then purchasing it separately.

Many customers are seeing the value in end-user support and thus more hosts are catering too it, so there is a good-sized handful of hosts out there that offer end-user support (many with their own helpdesks similar to what VAR had) with their reseller plans.

Good luck finding and migrating to a new host!

I moved from varhosting to webkore.net. They have their own helpdesk for end user support. I've had no problems in 2 months I've been with webkore.

Well if there is fraud detection software used in the billing system you can activate it. Although, this type of software works great, fraud will always occur (sometimes)
