Bah. Don't use server images or smiling corporate-looking people with headsets. Be unique!

Yep, you need to find a hippy looking dude with long hair wearing a headset and smoking a joint for the front of your site. :) Then you would be completely unique!

Getty have some fresh rights mangaed images which are great for web hosts but they are pretty expensive.
Something to consider is illustration (ehosting.com) or custom 3D (mediatemple.com)

http://www.sxc.hu - Most are free! We've used them before. The site runs a little slow at times, so if it doesn't open for you now, try again later - they seem to be popular.

<< removed >>Hi Sam,
What program do you think they used to create the images at MediaTemple? 3D Studio?

Any 3D app will do, its even possible to create the same effect with illustrator and photoshop combo.

You may want to take pictures of servers yourself if possible, but it is not possible, try stockphotos and do some photoshop effects on them. If you want a unique one, you may as you have mentioned go with a custom (illustrated) one.
We wish you well.
