The Host Fox is being inundated with e-mails all from different aol.com accounts asking to be removed from my mailing list.

I do not have a mailing list and I am not sending out these e-mails. The addresses to which the replies are being sent do not exist, and these replies are being picked up by my catch all.

This suggests to me that someone is sending out spam to aol.com accounts faking the from headers with hostfox.net addresses that do not exist.

Why would someone do this and how can I stop them?

One of your accounts may be spamming. At any rate. Post the email here, or just the part with the ip address and it can be traced back, to see if it really is from you. If it is, you must find the account and remove it. If not from you, you need to forward a email of it to the person responsible.

check your /var/log/maillog and also look at the headers of the email - probably someone spamming from you

The spam was coming from an account at xo.com using forged from headers ending in the hostfox.net domain.

Then is not your fault. Explain to them. Also file a complain to xo.com as well as their uplink provider.

This is normal  happens every other week/month with me :bawling:

If you know the specific email address, block it. Do not waste your time on spammers. If you just need to vent a bit, process the spam through www.spamcop.net and it will send the abuse report to the parties involved.
