Hi All, When I signed up with Kualo.com I though, well, I would receive my set-up instructions in about 24hrs or so, which seems to be the norm for most of the resell suppliers that I have had dealings with, but my to my amazement I had welcome emails and my account details within minutes. I even have a personal account manager. Now this is SERVICE! VERY Impressed! :)

Hey Hal,
I'm seriously looking at a Kualo.com reseller account.

I'm just curious - what made you decide on them? Have you tested the site speed yet? Are you based in the U.S.? How do you like the WHM and CPanel?

Any input is greatly appreciated!
:D

 Yes you are right. They have permission because they are related to MChost.

Xirus -

I dont think MCHOST owns cpanel so they dont have legal rights over it.

Kualo is also using cpanel so i believe why not have them pictures on there site too.

If you are talking about the actual look of the cpanel thats just a skin and can be purchased or created no big deal at all.

Other than that i dont see a problem and i have seen the exact same files used many times before over and over again.

Kind regards

HAL

I'm seriously looking at a Kualo.com reseller account.

Hi Christina and All, I went with Kualo after much research. All of the major reseller sellers :) have similar deals. The combination of presentation, server location, price and other factors made me decide to go with Kualo. No one supplier has the perfect combination of features, service and price but for me Kualo provided the closest to my definition of perfect. I have accounts with other suppliers also, so this is not my first. The descision to post my message was based on the excellent service they have given me.
The original thread ask for any ideas on a good resell supplier. For me Kualo has fulfilled that requirement. I will be basing all futurer dealings with suppliers on my experience with Kualo.

Re: CPanel design. The CPanel can be skinned and customised. Many sellers and resellers have the same and/or similar Cpanels. Some even supply different features. THis is not really the issue. Today in the world of ecommerce, SERVICE is the key to success because the BEST advertising for any business is WORD of MOUTH!
I hope this has been of help.

HAL :)

Anyone else have any imput on Kualo.com? I was considering them also. But one problem I believe is that they don't have SSL available yet.

Anyone?

Kualo...

1- Good support. They make you feel your problem is really their problem.

2- Server(s) are good, up and running. No downtime up to now.

3- Average load is below 1.00 in general below 0.50

4- Low prices with respect to what you get.

5- Good connection. Check the ping and traceroute records...

What more??? Aren't these enough to select a hosting provider as your partner?

>>> Still in moving progress. I will give you a link to check the server performance soon...

I would just like to thank everyone for such kind comments, it is really very appreciated and good to know that we are doing something right. :D

Blah, 64.247.54.72 doesn't look like an IP on our network. Are you sure thats a good address you have there?

All for now :)

Bravo Jo!

Honestly "nomonthly-newbie-1 post-no profile", do you think that your post has any value what-so-ever if you aren't willing to tell us who you are and what actual experience you have with Kualo?

Jo Stonehouse on the other hand has been upfront, has his address and phone number in his emails and Kualo.com has its addresses and phone numbers listed on it's website (more than many of the webhosts out there can claim, sad to say).

Even if there was an 18 year old running this company.....who's to say this is a bad thing? Just because I am over 30 doesn't make me a better business manager!

BTW, thanks Hal and Longlive for your responses and to Jo for quick and comprehensive responses to a plethera of questions!

:) Christina

It just means they were unable to resolve the hostnames of the ip's (eg: microsoft -> 207.46.230.219)

It's really nothing to worry about...

Hi All!
Just wanted to update....I finally decided to sign up with Kualo.com!

So far everything has been wonderful! Like HAL, I'm amazed and thrilled with the fast and friendly responses I receive (to each and every dumb question I ask!) And I've only just signed up yesterday!

This is a big "tech" step for me, and I am definitely in a learning phase....but it looks like Jo Stonehouse and the gang are going to be there for me when I need them.

If you have any questions about my interactions with Kualo I'm happy to answer.

I too have recently signed up with Kualo and very impressed with there service.
We moved from http://www.alivewww.com/cgi-bin/forum/forum.cgi prob the worse host going, and many of there customers are leaving.

When I signed up I got Chazz for my personal account manager, and every question I have asked as been answered within minutes, and they try there best for you.
I also tried there support desk and was impressed with it, very fast and friendly response.
The server I'm on is macbeth http://macbeth.kualo.com/sysinfo/ and its been running weeks with no downtime.

So coming from alive with constant downtime ( http://turtleshell.co.uk/alivestatus/ every day for hours) rubbish support and no help to this is excellent.
I would recommend Kualo to everyone :D

I have also signed up for a kualo reseller account. So far, they are the best company I have ever dealt with. They setup my account within hours of my signing up, and their support is out of this world! I have submitted 14 tickets already (all because of my own stupidity  ), and they were all replied to within 15 minutes of submission!

The support staff are incredibly helpful, and work quickly with you to solve any problems you might have. Jo, the Managing Director is also incredibly helpful. A number of my support requests were answered by him personally.

Overall - a massive thumbs up for Kualo. Keep up the good work :D.

Craig Luke

I just have a couple questions. First, why is vsh the only person in this post that is hosted by Kualo that has contact info or website info in your profile, are the rest of you that busy with your reseller accounts that you don't have time to fill that stuff out? Second...could some of you with there accounts please ether PM me or post the domain names to your accounts so I can check out speed, and such?

Thanks.

As for my web site, my DNS hasn't propagated yet. I'll be sure to add it as soon as it does and point out which of my clients that I have on Kualo's servers as well!

If this helps, when I tested my new IP I got: Response Time 0.1447 seconds

What about firewalls and spam protection etc...?

How easy is it to put up a vitual host with their own domain?

Well, I sent a long list of pre-sales questions to Kualo and I have to say I'm impressed! Sent late last night, had a in-depth reply when I woke up this morning. I think they'll have a new reseller client very soon (as soon as I can work out some issues that have nothing to do with hosting).

Why are you hosted on a MChost server

KualoJo
06-27-2002, 02:00 PM
Main account is on an MCHost server as thats where we started out a while back. The reason we have kept it open there is because we use it for our support site so that should for any reason our network experience any problems you could still get to our site and support area. Moreover, we have been primarily concentrating on our customers and haven't seen the need to make a change yet.

You'll find other companies such as HTTPme.com have the exact same setup.

I probably shouldnt say 'scared,' but I would simply like to start fresh. It's just with all the startup hosts these days it's hard to find one who isnt a reseller of a reseller of a Cogent reseller. ;)

Yeah, I used to think MCHost was great too. But as I said, I'm just not happy there any more.

I thought about going with Kualo, but the fact that they limit your usage based on allotted space/bandwidth instead actual usage forced me to look elsewhere. I didn't want to have to mess around with changing the bandwidth and space limits everytime I needed to add another account.

I have to say that Alivewww really do suck, I only had a personal account with them, I really pity all their resellers like vsh & stotra, they must have lost a LOT of business due to Alives downtime ! Alive must think people are really stupid if they think they can continue to treat people the way they do, most of their promises get broken on a regular basis and they NEVER had half of what they said they had in their sales blurb when I signed up - they even cut their "Telephone support" (a mobile number) when they had to many calls ! I`m surprised they`ve lasted as long as they have !

I`ve just opened an account with another host, its a real breath of fresh air dealing with someone who cares about their business and go out of their way to sort things, they even call me back if theres no-one there when I call - now that's service ! (mind you any level service would have been a relief after Alivewww !)

Lets hope they don't turn around and open up under an assumed name in order to lose their present image they seem to have a few other domains as well !

Good luck VSH & stotra with your new hosts, I hope your business grows !

Chazz, Eddie, Mort Reed... etc... these are all the people who convinced me to buy all those nomonthlyfees.com accounts a year ago... now, service is a joke and no one EVER REPLIES at all.... so I was looking for new host... SHOCKED to see I almost fell for Kuala! Same people... Mort, Chazz, Eddie, etc... same GAME too??? I see you BOTH were dumped by Alabanza recently and had to do "emergency software and server upgrades", afte4r which time you changed your name from nomonthly.co.uk to kuala....

Please enlighten me Jo... what is Kuala's connection to nomonthlyfees.com? I really cant believe I havent seen anyone ask you this

Thanks

KualoJo

We have no connection with nomonthlyfees. A long long long time ago like many small startup companies we were resellers, and we were resellers of nomonthlyfees. I can understand that you may be concerned if you have been treated poorly in the past by that company, but I can assure you that there is absolutely no affiliation between ourselves and them, nor has there been one in a long while. We run our own servers and have fast responsive support -- feel free to visit our own forums at http://forums.kualo.com and ask some of our existing customers a little about their experiences with us if you need further clarification. Alternatively email me on jo@kualo.com and I'll be happy to discuss any concerns you have.

And just one last time, we have absolutely no affiliation with nomonthlyfees at all. ;)

i though your name was familiar because i was one client screwd by nomonthly. are you up to screw clients again and leave them with no data? unless there are 2 jo stonehouse's around, this is a big SCAM just like *****.

this has been on nomonthly.co.uk until you remove it a few hours ago

Dear Valued Clients,

This announcement is to all of us here as much of a shock as it will undoubtedly be to yourselves. We received news on the 3rd May 2002 that our current providers are no longer willing to service our company and will be cutting all accounts off within the next 24 hours without refund. We have had no other choice but to comply and transfer to new providers. Subsequently we have acted as swiftly as we could in setting this up for you all, and we are now ready to make the transfers.

Your account will have already been created on the new servers and you will be required to re-upload your website within this time frame to prevent any downtime. To re-upload your site, please use the following FTP information:

Domain: sydney.dnsvault.com
User: yourusername
Pass: yourusername

Of course you must replace yourusername with your actual current username.

Upload your site contents to the public_html directory.

If we have administrative control over your domain, we have already initiated the transfer process for you which should complete within the same timeframe. We have no way of preventing your accounts being deleted, although we have tried to negotiate with our current providers to no avail. It is therefore essential that you reconfigure your site on the new servers ASAP to prevent any downtime.

To test view your site on the new servers, you will need to visit http://sydney.dnsvault.com/~yourusername (replacing yourusername with your actual current username).

To access the control panel on the new servers you will need to visit http://sydney.dnsvault.com:2082 and enter in your user and pass. This new control panel will enable you to reconfigure your email accounts, MySQL databases and other such features.

The paths on the new servers are as follows:

PERL Path: /usr/bin/perl
Sendmail Path: /usr/sbin/sendmail

Once again I truly apologise for this problem. It has come as much as a complete shock to us and we have been working night and day to find a solution. Your package details will remain the same and there will be no alteration to the pricing structure.

NoMonthly.co.uk Ltd. will now become known as Kualo International which was a change that we weren't expecting to have to implement for another two to three months and has been something which we have had to speed up at an incredible rate.

If you have any serious problems with uploading or configuring your new site, please call us on 07984 411 723 and we will be happy to assist. All support requests can be posted at http://helpdesk.kualo.com.

Yours sincerely,

Jo Stonehouse
Managing Director
NoMonthly.co.uk Ltd.

Could I ask how were you "screwed" by NoMonthly? We did not lose any client data to my knowledge and the few customers who were transferred were done so without hassle at all. Could you let me know your domain name as personally I do not believe that you were a past customer with us, as we didn't actually lose any customers from the transfer to my knowledge *at all*.

If you would like to discuss this further I wold be happy to do so, on instant chat if you like, but until you can provide me with who you are I cannot believe that what you say is true. We did not lose data nor clients from this transfer and it was more or less a successful, seamless process to an emergency situation.

I am normally just a lurker on here, but this one, I just had to finally say something.
I just got to ask, what is up with you saying you have nothing to do with nomonthlyfees? I put the whois from both theirs and yours on here, plus your nomonthlyuk.net. They look like they are all owned by the same parent company. Can you explain that? Although you changed the name of MPC Internetworks to MPC group. All owned by MPC, You even have same 1-909 phone number and same address on two, did you just forget to change the phone number and address? Still looks very much the same to me!

Tim,

We have no relation with nomonthlyfees. The domainsKualo.com & nomonthlyuk.net were registered using their registration service because when we signed up a long time ago we prepaid for 200 domain names, so why not use them up? They put in their tech contact telephone number by default, and we called ourselves MPC a long time ago when we were resellers of theirs. As I said, there is no longer *any* relationship whatsoever between us and nomonthlyfees so I think this debate should end here. There is no relationship, I cannot put it any other way to make it more clear.

Yeah, can not let a good thing go to waste, it just looks like they were all owned by one parent company, that is all. If it is by default, you of should really gone and changed it to reflect your correct info anyways. I guess that is up to you though.

Yes I imagine we will soon, its just been pretty hectic here and we haven't really had an awful lot of time to do make those kind of changes. :)

And you just SO HAPPENED to have lost your hosting provider (alabanza) at the same time they did?

And you just so happen to have the same people working for you as they do, huh? If you were "just a reseller" of nomonthlyfees.com, why would Mort Reed be listed as YOUR reseller manager? Mort Reed was the reseller manager for nomonthlyfees.com! And SAME service reps Chazz, and Eddie?? Just more "coincidences"? I read earlier in this thread that Kuala.com assigned to a new account a account manager named Chazz... not a very common name... especially when combined with Ediie and Mort Reed and the simultanious loss of hosting provider AND your registration info all being the same...

Jo, I simply cannot believe this, and this is the reason I will not do business with Kuala... I already got ripped off by nomonthlyfees.com... Carla wont even return my emails about my accounts being misconfigured in the "emergency upgrade".. I even had to get a new reseller domain name because if I move my reseller account I lose all of my exiting account credits with NO refund...

If you sincerly have NO affiliation with them, I would make it a HIGH PRIORITY to separate any connection. BUT, if you still are affiliated, Ill let you buy back my remaining 43 account credits at a discount! Then I wont be so mad. I want OUT and Carla is ignoring everything I mail her. If you are not affiliated I find it really hard to believe you somehow got at least 3 of their staff members on your team.

We have no affiliation with them at all, end of story. We had a lot of problems with them too which is why we moved away from them some time ago. Chazz (Charlie) is a member of our team here in the UK -- you can ring up and speak to him if you really like, definately nothing to do with them at all. If you want to continue this conversation with me over instant chat I would be more than happy to do so, but at the moment I am not happy that you are making these false allegations against my company. We are not affiliated with nomonthlyfees, we do not have any staff from nomonthlyfees so I think this needs to stop right now. Thank you.

I don't see what everyone's griping about. I signed up with Kualo and have had nothing less than AMAZING service. Some of my help desk tickets are answered in a minute; most within 10.

There hasn't been any downtime in more than 30 days. When there is going to be downtime it is always announced in advance, even when its less than 5 minutes for a reboot.

I've never heard of anyone called Eddie or Carla or Mort --- only Chazz, and I know at least 4 other people by that name.

I'm very happy at Kualo... and I have tried 6 other hosts before this one.

I must chime in here.......I signed up with Kualo about a week ago...my 5th hosting company (in 4 years) and I have NEVER had such quick, curtious, friendly help!

I think we all get that you know how to do a traceroute.......enough already.

If Kualo were trying to hide something, you wouldn't have found anything - we all know it can be done.;)

what the hell does Kualo mean anyway? I think I know what they are trying to hide!!!!

Ku al o - or swap the Ku to uk and get this interesting translation: UK ALien Organism. i knew it!

They are actually disguised aliens from a neighboring galaxy being harbored by the government!! Stop them IMMEDIATELY!!! They will suck out all of our brains!! and looking at some of these threads, I think they have already done so. (hehe)

-Down with the Aliens! Freedom First, Pay Later! (huh?)

I think whatever started has ended and if anything new needs to be posted, most likely it should be a new topic by now.
