HII,

Listing some of the features offered with hosting packages...I would be Interested to know, what features your customers actually ask for more...!

List :

1. Bandwidth / Data Transfer
2. Disc Space
3. MySql Db's and DB Space ( How much space ? )
4. POP Boxes.
5. Uptime
6. Protocol support for PHP & CGI/Perl.
7. Price of the package
8. Service

Please list them in order based on your experience with an package example..??
In other words which package in your Hosting company portfolio sells the best???

Thanks much

Number 5 is the most important.. along with service.. I think those are the top two.. as for the rest i think that depends on your client base.

Which means...customers would be willing to pay a decent price, if uptime and great service are guaranteed..??

okay...given that uptime is excellent ( 99.98 % ) and great service....what do they expect in terms of pricing for the rest of the features...I mean a price where customer is happy and the seller stands to profit at tehs ame time...

could some one give me an example of a package ??

Cheers

You really cannot base your prices anywhere are this.. most all hosts offer this and unfortunately alot of them do not back it up.. I would say price your plans for the future.. Figure out "Ok when I have XXX amountof customers, I am going to need to hire additional help" and don't always try to win the battle of the cheapest hosts as this is nothing but a lose lose situation. Get a few good customers under your belt and keep them happy and the rest will just call into place.

OKIhost : Thanks for your wise words there.

If...the hosting provider wants to concentrate on the local market and if its already price sensitive...to add an insult to injury, if the customers are not aware of the pitfalls of cheapest provider...

What steps do you experienced hostmasters recommend ??

thanks much
