Besides eBay and friends of course, does anyone know places to get good or great deals on or offline?
There's a great place here in Kansas City, Missouri to find deals on computers. Today I got a SPARCstation 5, 64 megs of ram, Solaris 2.5 installed, 85 mhz, and a 2.6 gig harddrive. I've already found a spot for it under my trashcan and on top of my old hub. It should be a great toy to play with, but I'm debating what I should run on it. Keep Solaris and upgrade or be my typical self and install OpenBSD? :) Anyways, the place, Surplus Exchange ( http://www.surplusexchange.org/ ) has great deals on stuff they get from donations. It's a bit sad that they're understaffed and a lot of people end up stealing from them, but they give you some great deals. I got the Sun with Sun video -> SVGA adapter for $25. I'll be going back for more sometime soon.
Does anyone else have places they go in particular to find deals? What're some of the deals you found?
