Do you think that the best advertising is local? or Internet? Say newspaper, local newspapers, ads in stores etc?

According to your signature page, internet ads are quite sufficient ;)

I think it mainly depends on what you're selling and who you're targetting

I've done some google adsense advertising and it can really be hit and miss. You really need to be smart about what keywords you select and how you do it. Don't advertise on "Hosting" unless you want to ship out big bucks and ultinately waste money...

Ive found that advertising under other companies search names has actually produced decent results..

say you were selling webhosting, would local be best? its hard to dominate an online market, with so much competition, so many webhosts out there on the net

Yes, I would definitely recommend advertising locally. You get to meet your clients in person and they know who they're dealing with as well as knowing their provider is a neighbor ;)

Niche marketing is what makes the internet so valuable, groups that locally are small on the net are huge.

Hi!

Yes, I agree with the others. It really depends on your target audience. If you believe you want to host the people in your area, then you do local ads. Or you can probably sponsor a newsletter of a local chamber of commerce. That should target it there.
