Hi all :)

This is my first post here at WHT and hopefully not my last ;)

I was just wondering what you guys and girls thought the customer would prefer to be hosted on.

Dual 10/100 Ethernet NICs
Red Hat Linux 7.x
2 x Athlon MP 2000+
1 GB PC2100 (1x1024)
40 GB, EIDE, 7200 RPM
40 GB, EIDE, 7200 RPM
Cpanel 4 + WHM
Cogent + Epik Backup @ wholesalecolo.com

or

Red Hat Linux 7.x
1x Pentium 3 1.0GHz
512MB SDRAM
60GB, EIDE, 7200 RPM
Cpanel 4 + WHM
Whatever Bandwidth Providers available @ www.eservers.biz

Thanks for your input!

The first one, definately :)

It has more RAM and CPU power, and a average customer doesn't know anything about bandwidth-providers.

As low as you've got sufficent cooling for those Athlons.

Which is cheaper? Do you *have* to run Redhat? :)

I personally would go with the Pentium, but it's my choice. If you're doing it for a production server, I *guess* I'd go with the first one. Which is cheaper?

They work out to be about the same price believe it or not.

that's pretty bad... if they work out to be the same price.. i belive intel i overcharging on it's chips.. but usally in a server room it's really cold to keep the chips from overheating.. so #1 is the best

The server mentioned first will definately out perform the server mentioned second, hands down.
